The
United Colonies called on it’s newly formed allies to help defend their skies
and to help rebuild the captured vessel.
The Nova, named for the famous astronaut Leonard Nova, was completed in 2142. Manned by a combination of crews from all the
allied races, she houses the very best technology from this sector of the
galaxy. Armed with powerful Ion
torpedoes, and several state of the art Pulsed Microwave Cannons, she also
features a prototype Denubian Cloaking Device, ten
Althorian Particle Beams, three highly modified Vert
power cores, Loithian sensor masking field
generators, and Coridian computer systems. Unlike her sister ships in the Republic
fleet, the USS Nova has a very thick layer of triple redundant armor. (Armor is not featured on Republic vessels
due to an over confidence in their massively powerful shield technology)
The
Nova primarily runs off of its three Vert Power
Cores, and the network of 12 Fusion Reactors for power, but still houses a G
Type Quantum Reactor. The reactor is
only used in heavy combat situations due to the scarcity of the Quantum fuel in
this dimension. Even operating without
her quantum reactor, the Nova is capable of tearing through a fleet of
Althorian vessels, and potentially, standing toe to toe with a
The
public is unaware of the Nova’s existence, and, as best we can determine,
knowledge of her existence did not make it back to 260 before the dimensional
rift was collapsed. Hopefully, with the element
of surprise on her side, the Nova can dispatch of any threat from our
neighboring dimension quickly and effectively.
