An Artist Statement - Sort of

Currently this website serves the simple purpose of presenting my artistic ability to the public.

I can't really call this an artist statement because a bulk of my art currently on this website was created under direction: for class assignments. I have only been a college graduate since June of 2006.  In the coming year, I will work on a few, more specific bodies of work to post sometime in late 2007.  Stay tuned - I'll update the site with a preview during Spring 2007.  Please contact me if you would like to be placed on my mailing list. 

So what about my art?  I have a couple of specific interests that I would like to explore in the near future.  First, I will be doing some installation-style work involving ideas of color theory with three dimensional forms.  As for my paintings, drawings, and collages, I am interested in social sub-cultures, specifically those of darker themes.  For the most part, my art tends to be about documentation - documenting a specific place and time in my own life or in the life of our society.  My art may not always look like a direct documentation, but that's where a real artist statement comes into play.  Later on...
