        Chapter five: Angel’s Work Day

Roka and Jiao sat on a cloud together looking down. The young priest looked worried.

“Well, well!” the she-devil spoke up. “Looks like a real romance to me!” Roka clinched his fists tightly.

“It will never last!” he snapped.

“We’ll see.” Jiao said humble-sounding. “We’ll see.” Roka just gritted his teeth. “I must stay humble!” he thought bitterly. “No matter what! She's just trying to push my buttons and anger me. I can't let her win!” Jiao just smiled to herself a fox that caught a timid little rabbit.

Rob rang Noizchild’s doorbell on Monday morning. She called him earlier and invited him to come to work with her. That seemed perfect because school was out for the day and it sure beat housework with Andrea.

Rob smiled as he remembered the sound of Noiz’s sweet voice on the phone. He remembered their walk yesterday and their walk in the rain weeks ago. Both were like touring heaven. He wanted more days with her. Well, this was the first step to achieve that.

Finally, the door opened. Rob’s raced in joy. Noiz stood in front of her man. The mouse boy couldn’t help but stare. His love donned a mint velvet green kimono with a light pink obi. A pinkish white lotus flower was in her hair. Her jade drop earrings were perfect on her cheeks.

“Ready to go?” Noizchild asked gingerly.

“Yeah!” Rob exclaimed. “Let’s go then.” his woman chirped. Then, she took her young mouse boy by the hand and led him out of her estate.

The city walk was bland. But the couple didn’t care. They had each other to enjoy. The streets were crowded as usual, so the love kittens stayed close to each other. Noiz finally led Rob to the Tokyo Artist Center building. She turned to her love.

“Now listen,” she began. “I am working on a joined novel series project today. I need you to stay quiet. You got me?”

“Yes sama.” Rob replied. Noiz-sama smiled.

“Arigato.” she responded. “Make me proud.” Then she lightly kissed him on the forehead on her tiptoes. Rob felt warm. Noiz-sama kept her smile. Then, she opened the door and walked in. Her love followed behind.

The inside seemed dark. The lights were dimmed. The main room was cool. Soft Indie music played on small speakers. Candles were lit everywhere. The room smelt of clovers. Rob looked at the place strangely.

“Noiz-sama,” he whispered. “What is this place?”

“This is where Japan’s finest artists gather.” Noiz replied softly. “Everyone comes here, art breathes here.”

“I see.” Rob whispered. The art distract was still weird through.

The couple made it down the dark hall. The lights on were the small tea lamps on the floor. It was creepy but strangely comely at the same time. Noiz came to a gold and black sliding door and lightly pushed it open.

        “Hello!” she called out.

“Coming!” a voice replied. The couple waited outside.

Soon, a man came to the door. He had long dark hair. The guy was tall and slender. His jeans were baggy, worn, and dirty. His muscle tee was grey and black.

The man looked Noiz-sama up and down.

“Noiz!” he exclaimed. “So good to see you!” “Same here Rolo!” Noiz called back uneasily. They embraced tightly. Rolo looked over Noiz’s shoulder.

“Who’s that?” he asked. Noiz-sama smiled.

“This is my boyfriend, Rob.” she replied. Rolo let go of the woman and walked over to her boy.

        “Hello there.” he said.

“Hi.” the mouse boy echoed. Rolo turned back to Noiz-sama.

“You have the deal?” he asked. “Yes I do.” the catgirl responded.

“Great!” Rolo called. “Come on in.” Then, the trio went into the dark room.

A low table was in the middle of the room. Five people were crowded around it. Binders, folders, papers, and books were everywhere. The sun in the windows was the room’s only light. The room seemed empty.

Rolo and Noizchild made it to the low table. A short blonde woman looked up.

“Oh good, you’re here!” she breathed out. “Now we can start.” Rolo and Noiz joined their group at the table. Rob sat on a floor cushion hear the door and listened closely.

The group sent most of the afternoon trading and comparing ideas for the Green Light/ Thomas Crown project.  Some were great and others needed work to them. Rob got to witness the brilliant side of Noizchild. He was really impressed with her now. All the more for her to be his forever.

When lunch break came around, Noiz-sama and Rob shared gyozas and sushi together outside in the perfect spring day. Rob was actually happy to see real light again. Noiz didn’t care; she had her guy with her.

The second half of work was just as great as the first. In the end, Noizchild proudly with a folder full and the project was ready to start.

“Rob,” she said as they were leaving.

        “Yes?” he asked.

“Care to have dinner with me? My treat.” his woman offered. Her mouse boy grinned.

        “Yeah!” he exclaimed.

“Come with me.” Noiz-sama replied. Then, she led him into the city.
