Blue Love House

Night One:

Pink swirls greeted the pair as they landed. Naoko took a look around him. The bright lights flashed above his head.

“Where are we?” he asked as he looked around. Felicity glanced behind her, grinning.

“This is the first circle,” she said. “The Circle of First Loves.” The mouse let his eyes wander around for a better look. Pink curtains went as high as the sky. Pearly clouds crawled across the cotton candy sky. Under candy trees, teenage couples in white shared kisses just as good as their first one under kompeito stars. Naoko looked down at the chocolate flowing river as he remembered his first kiss with Midori. He still lived in a world of innocence then.

I had really come a long way since then, he thought. Naoko paused in that very thought and turned to Felicity.

“What exactly is this love fest thing?” he asked. The courtesan held out her hand to the kissing crowd around them. Some of the couples snuggled together with little kisses to the neck.

“It is a celebration of love itself!” Felicity bragged. “It not really ends; just changes with the season.”

“And what season is this?” Naoko asked.

“Spring,” the courtesan said. “The rebirth of new love. But, we must hurry.” The escorted gave her a puzzled look.

“What for?” he asked.

“We have to be one of the first few to get into the Blue Love House,” she said.

“Blue Love House?” the mouse asked. Felicity grabbed onto his hand.

“That’s the entrance to the second circle!” she said. “Now come on!” The courtesan raced through the pinkened meadow with Naoko running behind her.

“Slow down!” he cried. “Why do you keep doing this?!?” The pair only disappeared further into the growing pink grass.

The pink gave way to blue once they crossed the thin bubble line. Naoko looked around puzzled. Glitter floated downwards around him. The warmth of the air played with his cheeks. Each step made him feel like they were walking in blue cotton candy. Felicity pushed through the golden hanging beads in front of them.

“Ack!” Naoko complained behind her. Felicity turned and looked at him.

“What is it now?” she asked.

“I’m stuck!” the mouse yelped as he tried to pull his foot out of the cotton candy. He slowly began to feel himself sinking under.

“Oh crap, hang on,” Felicity mumbled. She grabbed onto his wrist and pulled him out with a pop. He nearly tumbled over on her.

“Whoa!” he said. “You’re strong!”

“Yes, yes,” the courtesan brushed off. “Now, get off me before we both sink in!”

“Oh, right!” he whispered. The mouse quickly climbed off and helped his guide to her feet. Felicity brushed herself off.

“Now,” she said. “Try to remain level on this ground.” Naoko nodded at her.

“Right,” he said. Felicity picked up her pace with the mouse. They managed to make it to the gate just before sundown. She turned to her trustee.

“Just let me do the talking here,” she said. The mouse nodded as she pressed the call button with a white glittery nail. The mouse nearly jumped at the crackling sound in front of him.

“Blue Love House, how may we help you?” a woman replied on the other line. Felicity stood back straight and tall.

“Hello Mari,” she said. “I have new member to the Red Velvet Club.” A pause came over the air.

“Uh… does he have the official pass to get in?” the operator asked. Felicity leaned in close to the speaker.

“The pearls are in the canary,” she whispered.

“Oh! Well then, come right on in, honey!” the operator said. Then, the silver gates slid wide open. Felicity noticed over to her trustee. He followed her through the gates. Six women dressed in light blue Playboy Bunny outfits greeted them on the porch. Naoko looked away blushing as they waved at him. The head bunny with a big silver heart necklace around her neck stepped forward.

“Is this him?” she asked the courtesan.

“Yes!” Felicity replied. The bunny took her time examining him. Naoko nervously followed her with his eyes. The leader of the pack finally stood up straight. The look on her face perked up with a big smile.

“Very well,” she said. “You are clear to go.” Naoko looked around for close to a good minute.

“What?” he asked. Felicity bowed her head.

“I bid you good night,” she said.

“Night!” the other bunnies chimed in unison. Naoko tried to reach out to Felicity as she turned to leave.

“Wait!” he called. “Where are you going? Why are you leaving me here?” The courtesan paused and glanced over her shoulder.

“This is as far as I can go with you,” she said. “These gals will take care of you until you reach your next destination.”

“But…” he said. Felicity gave him a little smile.

“Don’t worry,” she said. “We will meet again someday. Good night.” She blew him a little kiss before walking away into the dying sunlight. The bunnies all turned to the mouse. The leader licked her plump lips at him.

“Come on, girls!” she called. “Let’s show our guest here a really good time!”

“Yeah!” her fellow rabbits cheered. Naoko didn’t get time to piece together what was coming next before the girls all grabbed a hold of him and ushered him into the Blue Love House. The door slid shut behind them.
