Chapter Two: Celebration:

Mosh’s eyes grew big at those words.

“What?!?” he asked.

“I’m pregnant,” Noiz said again. “By two weeks.”

“Shit,” her husband muttered. “Uh… well… Do you want to keep the baby?”

“I don’t know…” she murmured. Mosh paused.

“Shit,” he murmured again. But then, he paused as a sharp pain hit his chest. The mouse took in a heavy breath.

“Baby?” Noiz asked on the other line. “Are you okay?” Her husband took in slower breaths to talk.

“I have to go,” he said in a small voice.

“Baby?” the kitty asked again before he hung up. Mosh raced back to Aiko Suite. He fell back onto the bed into a world of black silence.

Mosh-kun! Mosh-kun!

The mouse slowly opened his eyes. Everything sounded like it was underwater to his ears. He glanced around him.

Where am I?, he thought.

-Mosh-kun!-

The mouse looked straight forward. A pair of golden eyes stared deep into his. The mouse leapt back in shock.

-What the?!?- He paused for a moment. –Oh, it’s you.-

-That’s all I get? “Oh, it’s you?”-

-Sorry, sensei.-

The priest shook his head at him. -You are just as hopeless as ever.-

Mosh gave the young man a puzzled look. –So, what are you doing here?-

The priest cleared his throat. –I am having a crisis.-

The mouse boy looked at him funny. –What do you mean?-

Roka looked at him with fire in his eyes. –Your wife is pregnant, isn’t she?-

Mosh slowly nodded. –Yes. Why?-

-This is bad!-

The mouse blinked at him. –What do you mean?-

-You fell in love with a woman, married her, and now she’s carrying your child! This is bad for me!-

-Well that last one was unexpected…- Mosh paused. –Wait! Why is this bad for you?

Roka lowered his head in shame. –A bet.-

-A bet?-

Roka shook his head. –That’s beside the point! Now I’m stuck paying for it, because of you. I’ll have to let you go as my student.- The priest frowned at him. –Damn it. I didn’t expect you to become the mating type!-

Mosh’s cheeks flared bright red. –You thought that I would stay a virgin forever?!?-

-Well, yes!-

Mosh fell over before him. Roka shook his head to regain his purpose of speaking. –Anyway, you have grown up and now you are no longer my student. You are a free man now.- He bowed to him. –Goodbye.-

-Wait a minute! Why? What happened?-

-I will always watch over you. Live well.-

-Wait! Where are you going? What do you mean? Come back! Come back!-

Moments later, Mosh awoke on Aiko Suite’s bed with Noiz standing over him concerned. He narrowed his eyes at her, confused.

“Noiz-sama?” he asked.

“Baby,” she said. “Are you okay? You scared me when you were on the phone.” Her husband shook his head.

“I’m fine now; sorry for worrying you,” the mouse boy said. “In fact…” He sat up on the bed. “Let’s go out a celebrate!” His wife looked at him so lost.

“You sure that’s okay?” she asked. “I mean, you were just…” He reached up and pushed some of her bangs from her eyes and put his finger to her lips. Her eyes stared deep into his. He gave her a gentle kiss on the lips.

“I’m fine,” he whispered. “I promise. Let’s just go out and celebrate while we talk about what to do next, okay?” His wife drew her mouth closed as she looked at his hand.

“Trust me on this,” Mosh pushed even more. “We’ll even go to one of your favorite restaurants if you like.” Noiz pressed her lips together.

“Okay,” she said in a soft voice. Mosh kissed her on the forehead.

“Thank you,” he whispered. “I’ll leave you to get changed, okay?” The kitty nodded at him. Mosh gave her another kiss before letting go of her and walking out into the hallway. Yet, he just couldn’t get that sinking feeling that something grim was headed towards them after his teacher talked to him in that moment he blacked out.

Maybe it get better once we figure out something, he thought. He hoped so anyway…
