Ryuji Tokomi:

    Ryuji is a typical teenage boy. He is lazy, shy, and a sweetheart. Kasumi is his crush. Ryuji didn't like kendo at first. But in time, he grows stronger and defends Kasumi and Haruko strongly.

Kasumi Umaki:

Age: 20

    Kasumi is a drifter. She was from a rich family. But her parents died when she was seven. Kasumi then lived with her warlord uncle. Due to the fact she was a girl, her uncle didn't teach her martial arts. Ken, her uncle, didn't believe that women should fight and just take care of the house. Craving to learn how to fight, Kasumi turned to Seita for help. He agreed and did so. Then one night, Seita killed Ken and stole the family's sword. Kasumi found herself alone again. Now she lives and travels with Ryuji and Haruko.

Haruko Tokomi:

Age: 19

    Haruko is Ryuji's older sister. She is his sole guardian. Haruko babies her brother to no end. She sees Kasumi as a sister. Haruko is top student in all of her classes.

Hisako Mi:

Age: 12

    Hisako is an animal girl. She loves and talks to them. Hisako was even born by a dog. She is a bright child.

Coni:

Age: 2 (Dog Years)

    Coni is Hisako's dog. He helps her a lot. The dog is more of her friend than her pet. Coni rides in Hisako's shirt or on her head.

Kameko Li:

Age: 19

    Kameko is the "House of Souls". She has eighty-two souls in her soul. How is this possible? When she was twelve, Kameko was possessed by an akaiya for three years. She fell into a coma then. A priest saved her at last. But at a cost. Kameko was fifteen but she still looked twelve. That was hard at first. But that soon changed. Kameko's older sister was dying. And Kame took her soul at her request. Now Kameko takes the souls of dying humans.

Merci Ki:

Age: 17

    Merci is Namu's older sister. She is fighting to nurse her brother back to health. Merci believes Namu is still alive and is trying to heal him. She is like the mother of the group.

Namu Ki:

Age: 10

    Namu is an ill child. He has a fatal disease. One that vegetabilises him on the edge of death. Namu uses an oxygen machine to help him breathe. Hope seems lost for the boy. But he is Merci's driving force.

Sayako Hong:

Age: 23

    Sayako was once a rich heiress. But then, she lost her inheritance. Sayako became up washed-up drunk is debt. Now she follows the others around because she is needy.

Shasha Cash:

Age: 16

    Shasha is a corky girl. She tries to keep to herself all of the time. Her only friend is Emmit. Shasha is weak at first but then he grows stronger.

Emmit Ray:

Age: 16

    Emmit is Shasha's friend. He is a quiet soul most of the time. But don't anger him. Emmit turns violent to the point he kills people. This is triggered when someone hurts Shasha.

Akimi Wi:

Age: 12

    Akimi is a dark child. She is a ruthless killing machine. The kid tortures her victims and then kills them. All for fun! Even her brother and sister fear her! Akimi is a twisted soul.

Sanya Wi:

Age: 17

    Sanya is Akimi's older brother. He and Ryuji fight constantly. Sanya only does it to test the boy. He acts all tough and cool. But in reality, Sanya is scared of Akimi.

Anna Wi:

Age: 15

    Anna is Akimi's older sister. She is great with swords. She acts like a guardian. Nothing seems to scare her. Well except for Akimi....

Karasu/Seita:

Age: 25

    Karasu is the villain in the epic. He was once Seita. He lived with Ken and Kasumi as a student. Seita taught Kasumi how to fight in exchange for sleeping with her secretly. But Seita's ego spiraled out of control. He wanted more power for himself. So the boy killed his master, stole the family sword, and ran away. Now he follows Kasumi and co. to the cove.
