Hole in the Wall

There is a stone brick missing
in the wall
I walk towards it and look through
it
A white light shines inside
It blinds me
I back away, rubbing my eyes in
pain
I hear footsteps
It's my daddy
When my sight cleared, I saw
his face
He looked worried
"Daddy," I asked
"Why is there a hole in our
wall?"
Daddy was sick
"This old wall is falling apart,"
he answered
"I used to be able to fill the
holes back to the way they
were. But now, I am too old
and too weak to finish the job.
You, my child, must fill the holes
and keep this wall up now."
I promised Daddy I would
But, I didn't...
