Chapter Forty-Six: Holiday:

It all started with one request from the kitty wife. This summer in Aiko Suite was getting a little bit dull for her taste. Noiz ached for a little excited to shake things up a bit. From the moment that she woke up, the cat began plotting the perfect getaway. The trip would take from afternoon into the next morning. Noiz ached so badly to go to the beach again. She hadn’t had the time between the academy and working out writing deals so far. Plus, the only time that her and Mosh had spent together for the past couple of weeks was just work-related and straight to bed. They didn’t even have the chance to share a meal together. It was just mostly TV dinners and take-out on the job for them both. Noiz couldn’t stand it anymore. So by the time she put in her other earring, the plans were already set in her head. Now all that was left was the perfect moment for the invitation.

Noiz waited until Mosh was finally awake and functional to even talk to him. The wife counted down from ten in her head as she watched him play video games online. She lowered her magazine in their living room early one morning.

“Mosh-kun,” she said. “Let’s go on vacation.” Her husband looked up at her from the computer.

“Why?” he asked. Noiz gave him a little shrug as she set the magazine down on the coffee table.

“Cause, I feel like it,” she said. “I’m just a bit bored around here and we barely get to have any fun time to ourselves.” Mosh looked her in the eye. He turned his chair to face her.

“Alright, where to?” he asked. The kitty gave him a huge grin as she rose to her feet and walked over to him.

“The beach!” she cheered. Mosh blinked at her again. He hadn’t expected her to come up with an answer right away. He just thought that she would say, “I don’t know” or something along those lines. Instinct told him that she was plotting something again.

“Okay…” he said. “When?”

“Now!” Noiz said with big eyes. Her face was just now inches away from his. Her husband’s face just dropped. Okay, now she really was plotting something here.

“Right now?” he asked. Noiz nodded her head up and down.

“Yeah,” she said. “We can just pack a lunch and spend the night in a hotel. We can come home by morning.” The mouse boy blinked at her uneasily at first.

“Boy, you really planned this out, didn’t you?” he asked with a sweat drop on his head. He should’ve known that his wife would pull something like this. After all, cats were quite the schemers next to foxes. Noiz quickly grabbed by the hands.

“Please?” she pleaded with big eyes. She batted her eyelashes at him for extra measure. The mouse boy tried to look away from her. He hated when she pulled one of her favorite traps on him.

“Uh… well…” he mumbled. He felt himself wavering. She’s wearing him down… Mosh finally lowered his head. Noiz’s eyes lit up brighter than stars.

“You’re the best!” she cheered. Then, the kitty let go and hurried off to start packing. Mosh shook his head to himself. Cats just had this strange power to be persuasive with mice like him. I just don’t know how to turn her down!, he thought.

The couple packed up everything for the trip and the wife made the bento boxes in the kitchen while she waited. “Come on, Mosh-kun!” Noiz called from downstairs two hours later. “I want to catch the Shinkansen as soon as possible!” She clapped her hands in emphasis.

“Hold on a second!” the mouse called back. “I’m just about finished!” Noiz sighed and rolled her eyes.

“We don’t have all day!” she called. “We’re just going to be gone the whole day!”

“I know, I know!” her husband yelled. He finally came down the stairs. His wife gave him a little smile.

“All set now?” she asked. Mosh gave her one nod.

“Yeah!” he said. Noiz turned to the door.

“Let’s go!” she said. Mosh nodded as his eyes stayed on her black tail through light pink skirt as it swished from side to side when she walked out the door. Judging by her tone and the smirk that she was giving him earlier when she spoke, he had a clear idea that he was heading for a naughty one-day vacation.
