If You Want to Be a Hero Than Just Follow Me

“Civilizations are judged by the way they treat the most helpless of their citizens.” Jack’s view of Lucien could not have said that any better. Some of the civilizations abuse those citizens. However, there are still some good souls left in the world left to defend the weak and help them to survive. One of those types of people is the social worker. Working Class Hero focuses the social worker named Jack from the play and movie, The Boys Next Door. He takes care of four mentally disabled men, Arnold Wiggins, Norman Bulansky, Lucien P. Smith, and Barry Klemper. Jack deeply cares about these men, but overtime they wear him down and rob him of his personal life. He even forgets his own birthday at one point. The breaking point comes when Barry’s father comes to visit and shatters the boy. In the end, he has to quit his job for both of their sakes.
