Chapter Eighteen: Insomnia:

Midnight. Noiz lied awake in their honeymoon futon. They would go home tomorrow morning. Their home. Sakura Ai Palace would feel different now that they were married. Before, he just lived there. But now…

It’s our house now. She tried to hold back a giggle. It feels strange.

She paused when she heard rustling in the sheets. Her eyes trailed to her left. Grey-blue eyes stared back at her.

“Oh,” his wife said. “You’re awake too?”

“Yeah,” he whispered back.

“Can’t sleep?” Noiz asked.

Mosh shook his head. “You neither?”

Noiz shook her head. “No.”

“What’s on your mind?”

“Our home.”

Mosh looked at her in a funny way. “Our home?”

“It’ll be our house now.”

Her husband blinked. “Huh?” It took a moment to sink in. “Oh yeah! It is our house now.”

“Yes, yes.” Both smiled to each other. He lightly held her hand.

“Excited?”

“Uh-huh.” She nuzzled his nose. “I have work tomorrow.”

“Aw,” he said. Noiz gave him a little kiss.

“You have class tomorrow too,” she said. The mouse forced himself to smile.

“Don’t remind me,” he said. She giggled, then sighed. Mosh noticed her face.

“What’s wrong, Noiz-sama?” he asked. She shook her head.

“It’s nothing,” she lied. He gave her a little smile.

“Come on,” he whispered. “I just want you to be happy.” His wife sighed.

“I just…” she said. Her hand tightened around his. “I just don’t want it to be over yet.” The couple didn’t speak at first. His thumb stroked her left hand.

“I don’ want this honeymoon to be over either, but it has to end,” he told her. Noiz nodded at him.

“I know…” she mumbled. Silence floated over them. Mosh smiled at her again.

“Hey,” he said. “It doesn’t have to be that bad. We can still make the most of this last night.” His wife raised an eyebrow at him.

“How?” she asked. The mouse smirked at her instead of speaking. He kissed her on the lips. Pleasantly surprised, Noiz kissed back as she pulled him on top of her. Their kisses led to another steamy ride in bed.
