Chapter three: Is it the Right One?

Later that evening, Noizchild went down to Tami’s house in Southern Tokyo. She had to talk to her seir. Sure, Rob confessed his love to her. But was she right to be his? Could she love him back? There was only one way to tell.

Noizchild knocked on the black sliding door.

“Coming!” a voice called from inside. Noiz waited in anticipation. The door opened with a breeze. Tami caught sight of Noiz.

“Hi mama,” her childer greeted. Tami looked close at her.

Tami was a plump old woman. For a wilting age of forty-six, she was a feisty woman. Despite gout in her right ankle, Tami was in excellent health. She always walked with a black and gold cane. Her hair was a short blackish grey. Tami’s face still looked like a thirty-year-old's. She was dressed in a pale blue and yellow yukata. Her navy glasses were perched onto her face.

Tami looked at Noiz closely through her glasses. She smiled instantly.

        “Noiz-chan!!!” the old woman exclaimed.

“So good to see you!” Then she embraced her childer closely.

“Whoa!” Noiz called out. “Same here!” Then Tami dragged her childer into the house and closed the door behind them.

Rob paced around in his old room. He came back to his old home to seek advice. He told Noizchild how he felt. So now what?

Then, there were footsteps coming up the stairs. Rob stopped and sat on the cedar and cotton bed. The door opened widely. Andrea stood in the doorway and watched her childer. Andrea was aging but youthful-looking. Her short cinnamon hair lightly brushed her cheeks. She was a tough soul. Andrea held the fort together strongly. She had the energy of a teenage girl. Today, Andrea was dressed in dark blue Carpi jeans and a burgundy tank top with silver toe rings.

“You wanted to talk to me?” Andrea asked her childer. Rob sat up straight. He swallowed hard. He knew how Andrea was with these type of things. But he had to risk it. Well, here goes nothing.

“I met a girl.” he announced boldly. Andrea’s eyes lit up.

“Great!” she exclaimed. Then Rob’s seir leapt onto the bed beside him. *Sweat drop on Rob’s head* Ann sat up and grinned.

“So,” she spoke up. “Tell me about her. Who is the lucky lady?” Rob felt uneasy at first. Andrea was always digging into the heavy details about his love life. He wanted to tell her to back up some. But he figured he might as well go on. This was Andrea after all. She would question him to death if he didn’t.

“Her name is Noizchild.” Rob answered. “She is nice, beautiful, and I love her but…” Andrea’s face fell flat.

“But what?” she asked. Rob sat up stiff.

“I don’t know if she is the one.” he answered. Ann just stared at him like a deer in the headlights.

“Are you nuts?!?” she snapped. “If she is as great as you believe she is, at least get to know her first! If this is a great girl, don't let her go! Try this relationship out!!!” Rob instantly felt better.

“Arigato Vi.” he replied. Andrea grinned. Then, she went back down stairs.

Meanwhile, Noiz sat at the coffee table with her green tea. Tami came out with dumplings and more tea.

“So, what is the matter?” Tami asked. Noiz looked up.

“I met a younger man.” she answered. Her seir froze in disgust.

“Is this another leech of Aden’s?” she hissed. Noiz shook her head sweetly.

“No,” she replied. “This one’s a genuine sweetheart.” Tami relaxed. “Oh good.” she said as she sat down with her childer.

“He slipped me a note in my bag that said ‘I love you, Noiz-sama’ on it.” Noiz went on. “When I asked him about it, he admitted that he had fallen in love with me. He didn’t even care about my age or my faults.” Tami seemed delighted but lost.

“So, what is the problem?” she asked.

“I don’t know if he is the right one.” Noizchild answered. Her seir put her hand on her shoulder.

“You will just have to try and see.” Tami replied. Noiz smiled and nodded.

“I will Tami-san,” she said at last. “I will.” Tami smiled.

“More tea and dumplings Noiz-chan?” she asked.

“Sure!” her childer chirped up. Her seir happily served her more edible goods.
