Chapter Ten: Scrutiny:
Naturally, Katie told everyone the next morning. By afternoon, everyone knew about Noiz and Kohana’s affair. Everyone was just as shocked as the Finnish girl. Noiz was a slut, but only with Rob. What did this mean now? Were Noiz and Rob over? Why was Noiz with Kohana in the first place? Did the kitty switch teams all of a sudden? Was this just a test run? The questions just built on from there. And trust me, it was only getting started from there!
Everywhere the girls went, people stared at them intently. Noiz tried to ignore them and move on with her day. Kohana on the other hand, didn’t seem to be taking it too well. The staring and whispers all made her nervous. “They know!” the mousegirl thought in worry. She tried her best not looked panicked at all. That only last halfway through the morning however. The staring and whispering only grew worse and worse. Kohana’s cool front slowly began to crumple away. She didn’t know how much longer she could last. By the end of the morning, Kohana just couldn’t take it anymore. The staring and whispers had broken her down at long last. When Miho’s class ended for lunch, Kohana fled straight to the girls’ bathroom. She ran into the nearest stall and locked the door. The mousegirl pulled out her cell phone and began texting to her lover.
“I think they know!” she typed to Noiz. The mouse hit send right away. In a few seconds, Kohana got a message back. She hit open right away.
“I think so too,” Noiz wrote back. Kohana hit the reply button.
“What should we do?” she typed back.
“I’ll take care of it,” Noiz sent her. Kohana breathed out in a little relief. But yet, another little thought nagged in the back of her mind. The mousegirl had been afraid to ask because she didn’t make Noiz angry at her. But in a time like this, Kohana couldn’t hold back any longer. The question just had to come out now.
“How is Rob-san taking all of this?” the mousegirl typed. The mousegirl shut her eyes tightly as she hit send. The poor girl feared the worst for an answer. But to her surprise, Noiz seemed so cool about everything.
“It’s okay,” the kitty typed back at her. “Rob is completely cool with it. I love you both equally. So don’t worry about this whole situation. I will take care of it. You just enjoy the rest of the day. Love ya, Noiz-sama. =^-^=” Kohana stared at the message for a long time. Was Noiz serious? Did she really mean what she said about Rob and her? And how was Noiz going to fix the problem at hand? The mousegirl decided to wait and see.
By lunch, the plan fell into action. Kohana decided to eat in the café for today to avoid any questions. The staring and whispering still followed her there. No matter what the mousegirl did or where she went, it just wouldn’t leave her alone. All eyes stayed on her the whole time that she ate. The mouse just about lost her appetite for the day. This day looked like it would just get worse and worse.
But then, the ship was suddenly saved. For Kohana noticed that someone had just sat down beside of her. The mousegirl looked up to see Noiz sitting right now to her smiling. The mouse blushed at her bright pink. The kitty looked so hot close up. Noiz smiled at her innocently. Kohana looked at her confused.
“W-What are you doing, m-mistress?!?” she stammered out nervously. Noiz lightly put her finger to the mousegirl’s lips.
“Shhh!” she whispered to her pet. “I’m taking care of the problem at hand right now.” Kohana looked at her completely lost on that one.
“How?” she asked in an almost whisper. Noiz smiled at her wickedly.
“Just leave it all to me,” the kitty suggested. “I’ve got it all figured out.” Kohana nodded at her nervously. Noiz smiled at her gracefully as she pulled out her chopsticks from the paper holder. She parted them neatly and began to eat. Kohana looked on at her nervously at first. “Okay,” she thought in a matching mindset. The mousegirl tried her best to finish eating her lunch as well. Difficult to do with many people watching you. But, Kohana tried her best to manage. After all, this was in Noiz’s hands now. However, that was what the mousegirl feared at the same time. Couldn’t really do anything about though. The kitty was flying this plane to safety now, not the mouse.
So far, the lunch went through just fine. The girls kept on eating the whole time. Everyone stared on at them so intently. Kohana felt herself getting nervous all over again. She hoped that Noiz would do something right away to fix this mess that they had come into. That wish slowly became grimmer by the minute. But then, Noiz actually did something about the problem.
She set down on chopsticks over her soy sauce tray. Kohana looked at her rather nicely. This was it. The kitty’s ultimate plan to stop everyone from staring and whispering about them. Noiz turned to Kohana smiling at her wickedly. The mousegirl stared back at her looking nervous. Then, the unexpected happened. Noiz leaned in closed and kissed Kohana right on the lips. Everyone else in the café watched on in shock. Noiz didn’t care at all. She just acted like the whole thing was just normal. Kohana didn’t seem to know what to do at first. She hadn’t expected this to be Noiz’s great plan at all. But yet… this felt so good too. The mousegirl kissed back right away. That kissed lasted for ten minutes, but to Kohana it felt like forever. The kitty slowly pulled away from her and turned to their “audience.”
“There!” she called out them. “You have your answer! Kohana here and I are in fact an item! Yes, Rob knows about us and he’s okay with it! You can all stopping talking about us in your idle gossip!” Everyone stared at her still as the cat went back to eating her lunch. Kohana sat next to her staring back at everyone. What just happened there? Did Noiz just proclaim her love for here in the public? And did she really mean it or was it just an act just to get everyone off of their backs for a while? This would just add onto the many questions that Kohana constantly had about her mistress. So many questions, but yet no real answers to satisfy them. Why did women have to be such confusing creatures? It’s only going to get more confusing.
