    The Victim:

The police won't give out the victim's name to this day. So we will call her Bella.

She first came to Mayberry with her mother after her parents got divorced. Not much is known about her father. Bella couldn't even tell them much about him when she was questioned by the police in the hospital. Her mother wasn't greeted with much positive talking about her either. She wasn't abusive or a shady person though.

"Her mother was barely around," one neighbor told police. Bella's mother worked two jobs to make ends meet. One job required her to work nights while the other on weekends. The only time she got to see her daughter was in the mornings. Even then, they didn't talk to each other much.

"Her mother wouldn't get back until three in the morning," another neighbor said. "We all wondered about that problem child locked up in that house alone at night."

Bella didn't seem to have a social life in school either. She didn't join any clubs or other after-school activities. The girl wasn't known to have any friends during her time in Mayberry, North Carolina. Her classmates didn't even know how to approach her.

"She just stayed in her little box," the class president said. "I tried to invite her over to have lunch with my friends once, but she turned down my invitation." Bella made decent grades in her classes. Mostly B's and C's. However, she never spoke up in class. Her teachers tried to help her out, but to no avail.

"We were all worried about her," math teacher told police. "She never talked much and she looked like she hadn't eaten for weeks." Bella always looked so pasty and thin when she wandered around her neighborhood.

"I asked her one day, 'Are you eating enough?'" the first neighbor, Kimberley, said. "She told me yes and I left her alone at that. Didn't feel the need to pry any further."

"I usually saw her walking around the neighborhood looking disheveled," a third neighbor said. "But, that girl never caused any problems. She only picked up trash and threw it away. So, we all just left her alone." To be left alone and live peacefully in her new town was all Bella did in her solitude. She had rough conditions with her, but she never complained. All she had to do was live quietly in Mayberry and that would be it.

That was until just weeks before school let out for summer vacation when Bella crossed paths with Janine and her cronies.
