The Wrongness of Monty Python

For those of you who don’t respect Monty Python, those wacky British (and American) guys have brought us a dead parrot, the argument clinic, a guy named Brian who was born the same time Jesus was, and now the quest for the Holy Grail

(I’m not dead yet!!!!)

The boys go back to King Arthur’s time and seek this legendary cup. Alas, like everything Monty Python, there are things that don’t belong. I can name a long list of them for this movie but I have to narrow it down to three. So here goes.

(I feel happy!!!)

After the “Bring out your dead” scene, (Which is one of my favorites), a peasant couple talk about voting and democracy. Back in Arthur’s time, people didn’t elect the king (or queen); he (or she) came to power either by force or divine right.

(Brave Sir Robin ran away…)

Second, throughout the movie, a historian talks and gets beheaded by a knight riding by. (A ride-by beheading!!!!!) His wife and the police try to look for the murder throughout the movie. Why that an anachronism? Do I really need to explain?

(It's just a flesh wound.)

Last is the Trojan rabbit. I don’t need to explain why that is an anachronism, do I?

(Run away!)

Either it is viewed the python boys are brilliant.
