Couldn't wait for Thanksgiving

To be over so I could see

How long it would take the kids

To put up the Christmas  tree

Stores had already started

Right before Halloween

Craziest thing I will say

Silliest I've ever seen

What happened to our thinking

It's not about the dollar

But the Lord our God

Is what I want to holler

He suffered so much agony

And said it was ok through it all

And still He answers every prayer

Or when His name we call

Oh yes I do love Christmas

All those fancy lights and more

But I cannot forget who comes

A knockin' at my door

So while you're setting up

With me please concur

Make sure this holiday season

The real reason they remember
