In
God’s great hand my name is written down -
Not
lightly, but with bold deliberate strokes;
Engraved
forever there for me to see
One
day... when I come home -
Still
following the way.
I
cannot fathom why the great “I Am”
Should
plan for me to know His pen has traced
The
letters of my name -(which He knew first)-
Except...the
joy, the peace,...the confidence
He
has - in wondrous ways - to me dispensed.
For
when the tragedies of life contain my name
I
say, “He knows.....and I am not alone.
I
trust because I know...He can’t forget...
This
trial for me is good...
He
loves me yet.”
And
so, dear friend, my pen is in my hand.
Your
name I place upon my palm today.
I
promise, as I go about my tasks,
I’ll
pray for you each time the Spirit asks.
....Sometimes,
in gentle gesture...I do close
My
fingers there around your precious name...
And
hold you close...and know...that God
Is
doing just the same.

Isaiah
49
“I
will never forget thee......see?
I have engraved your name in the
Palms
of My hand...”
“I
will never leave thee nor forsake thee....”
Hebrews
13
In
My Hand
I
wrote your name in my hand today -
I
prayed for blessings to come your way;
I
know you’ve had many hard things to bear
Things
that the Lord wants me to share.
I
carried your name in my hand all day -
When
the dish water almost washed it away
I
wrote it again and bolder still
I
prayed till I felt that heavenly thrill.
And
I thought I heard the voice of God say,
“I
also carried a name today -
It’s
engraved forever and ever to stay
No
amount of soap could take it away.”
My
privilege, my honor, my duty is sure,
I
carry your name to help you endure.
But,
it’s true, there’s a reason straight from above-
I
carry your name for the cause of Love.

Sentence
Prayers
I
read it in Isaiah ~
That
my name is in His hand,
Engraved
there, and indelible ~
Always
with Him in that land;
And,
I knew that you were burdened,
That
you really needed prayer~
So
I wrote your name in my hand and
I’m
glad I put it there.
For,
the day went by as usual,
Still,
reminded now and then
I
would say a prayer with your name
Ever
in it ~ (you’re my friend!)
When
finally it faded and
It
grew a little dim,
I
took my pen up in my hand and
Wrote
it back again!
I
know God heard the prayers I said
For,
when you passed my way
The
care lines melted from your face ~
It
was a brighter day!
There
was a glow about you ~
Your
step was lighter too,
And
I thanked God for a clever way
Of
remembering prayer for you!

Palm
of Your Hand
I
read in God's Word how He loves us
So
much that He's engraved His hand
With
your name and my name - no, He won't forget
As
we walk through this dangerous land.
I
thought if God holds our names so
Tender
and lovingly there....
Perhaps
I should write down a name or two,
Call
out those names in prayer.
Friend,
will you put a name in your hand?
Will
you get on your knees and pray?
For
many are sick that could be well,
Many
not saved - on their way to hell,
Battles
are lost when knees do not bend,
Burdens
not lifted when not brought to Him -
Blessings
are missed by ones who could pray
And
by those who need your prayer today.
