Bird Talk
From owing two intelligent budgeriga birds which try to learn to speak, I have noticed that they have a typical “tviu” sound and that they communicate by the variations of that sound. They may vary the sound’s phonems and its length and emphasis on the different parts of the sound.
One could gather objective data of this by using a computer program which recognizes human speech by the forms of the words and by the phonems. The computer could first gather data about the normal sound by taking the average of many “tviu” sounds and then compare the individual “tviu” words to that when they have first been recognised by someone who knows the bird’s way of talking well.
This way one could learn the birds’ way to communicate.
