Compassion
As I read descriptions about spiritual development, I cannot help thinking that spiritual development is culture spesific: Compassion toward all living beings is said to be a step on the buddhist road, still my own culture, the Finnish speaking Finnish culture considers it a charachteristic of all healthy humans. And while the Asians feel it in theire chest area, I feel only likings at that area but compassion strongly in my whole body. And while it is to them a point in teh spiritual path, it is to us the ground stone of our society andf of the world at large.
Similarly, feeling unified with the world at large is considered some kind of spiritual experience. But I have always felt being one with the world at large. All beings and slightly even things being a part of me - so essentially that if someone gets hurt, I feel the pain in my own body. That's one reason why I do not like fighting and why I cannot undertsnad how this country has ever been in war - well, neither can others understand it, they feel likewise. (It might be that we are too stupid, got cheated by the Swedish to protect their country since we had and have a Swedish speaking upper class. But that is outside the point...) Well, like my pages show, we use a kind of all human point of view encompassing the whole world via which development cooperation is understandable but wars not at all.
