My book Theory of Sexuality handles actually mostly feelings and only in addition the sense of beauty and the social, friendship like side of sexuality.
But as I told my social environment that I was writing about the rationality of feelings and instincts, they always came with the same answer: "That aren't possible. Feelings are not rational!" "Why?", I asked. "Eh, there is one thing that You have left lacking." "Oh, but I HAVE handled that too!" And so stop this same misunderstanding always occuring I renamed my book "Hard Rationality of Feelings and Instincts" as "Theory of Sexuality; In the light of evolution".
It is ok for kids to read too, since the part about sexuality is quite theoretical and applies also to friendship and non-sexual admiration. But it is propably much too boring for kids to read. Thus I hope that the name of the book is after all ok. It really is so that without understanding the messages of feelings, it is quite difficult to see sexuality as rational, but once You understand the messages of Your feelings, You can better understand also the more social tangles of feelings and sexuality.
Here is the introduction to my book "Theory of Sexuality" about the value of feelings in the tough modern world, in the scale of one's own life. (The back cover of the book, quite much in the style of the book itself:)
"Sexuality teaches us about the art of living IF we just are wise enough to understand the messages of our feelings.
Understanding gives us a map but feelings and instincts give us directions to go to: toward better health: toward a full life according to our nature.
The world has changed but our nature which is our instructions of usage, has not changed at all. Together with a holistic understanding of the world that we live in, our feelings and instincts still guide us exactly right in the tough world."
