About the selfishness of genes

It is not benefical for the survival of genes to be completely selfish in the sense of supporting just themselves only, whatever the cost. Instead it makes sense for them to support the genes which have as much in common with them as possible and at the same time an as good, excellent survival ability as possible. That makes it surest that the genes survive in the evolutionís competition. So the emphasis has to be on the survival ability and not on the likedness of genes, since it will be just the best genes which survive in the long run. But of course one can choose from the very best genes to support most just the ones like oneself: then one can ally and be one of them who are likely to produce such genes in the future. But one must not destroy the other good genes: instead one must ally with them via mating and so gain the best possible survival ability.
