The Little Entrance
[The Priest makes the Little Entrance with the holy Gospel. Standing before the Holy Doors, facing the Altar, he says:]

The Prayer of the Little Entrance
Priest: [Quietly:] O Master, Lord our God, who hast appointed in heaven orders and hosts of Angels and Archangels for the service of thy glory: cause that with our entrance there may be an entrance of holy Angels serving with us and gloryifying thy goodness: for unto thee are due all glory, honor, and worship: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
[Then the Priest blesses the Entrance, saying quietly:] Blessed is the Entrance of thy Saints: Always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
[When the Choir has finished the Troparion, the Priest kisses the Gospel Book and lifts it up with both hands, saying in a loud voice:] Wisdom! Attend!
[The Priest enters the Sanctuary through the Holy Doors and places the Gospel Book on the Altar. Meanwhile the Choir sings the Entrance Hymn.

The Entrance Hymn
People: Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ. O Son of God, who art risen from the dead, save us who sing unto thee: Alleluia.

[Then the Choir sings the Troparia and the Kontakion of the day. While the Choir sings the Troparia, the Priest prays the Prayer of the Trisagion.]

Prayer of the Trisagion
Priest: [Silently:] O holy God, who restest in thy Holy Place; who art hymned by the Seraphim with thrice-holy cry, and glorified by the Cherubim, and worshipped by every heavenly Power; Who out of nothing hast brought all things into being; who hast created man after thine own image and likeness and has adorned him with thine every gift; who givest to him that askest wisdom and understanding; who despisest not the sinner, but hast appointed repentance unto salvation; who hast vouchsafed unto us, thy humble and unworthy servants, even in this hour to stand before the glory of thy holy Altar and to offer the worship and praise which are due unto thee: Thyself, O Master, accept even from the mouth of us sinners the Hymn of the Trisagion, and visit us in thy goodness. Forgive us every transgression both voluntary and involuntary; sanctify our souls and bodies; and grant us to serve thee in holiness all the days of our life: through the intercessions of the holy Theotokos and of all the Saints who from the beginning of the world have been well-pleasing unto thee.
[Aloud:] Let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.

Dynamis!
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal! have mercy on us!
Priest: [The Priest also says the Trisagion; then he bows toward the Prothesis and quietly says the following prayer:] Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
[Then facing the High Place he says, quietly:] Blessed are thou on the throne of the glory of thy kingdom, who sittest upon the Cherubim, always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

The Apostle
Priest: Let us attend!
Reader: [Recites the Prokeimenon of the Epistle]

Priest: Let us attend!
Reader: [The Reader sings the Epistle for the day.]
Priest: Peace be to thee that readest.
People: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

The Prayer Before the Gospel
Priest: [During the reading of the Epistle, the Priest censes the Gospel Book, and reads quietly the prayer before the Gospel:] Illumine our hearts, O Master who lovest mankind, with the pure light of thy divine knowledge, and open the eyes of our mind to the understanding of thy Gospel teachings; implant in us also the fear of thy blessed commandments, that trampling down all carnal desires, we may enter upon a spiritual manner of living both thinking and doing such things as are wll pleasing unto thee: for thou art the illumination of our souls and bodies, O Christ our God, and unto thee we ascribe glory, together with thy Father who is from everlasting, and thine all-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

The Prayer of the Ektenia of Fervent Supplication
Priest: [Aloud:] Help us; Save us, have mercy on us; and keep us, O God, by thy grace. Wisdom!

The Second Prayer of the Faithful
Priest: [Silently:] Again and oftentimes we fall down before thee and beseech thee, O Good Lord who lovest mankind, that looking down upon our petition thou wilt cleanse our souls and bodies from all defilement of flesh or spirit; and grant us to stand blameless and without condemnation before thy holy Altar. Grant also, O God, to those who pray with us growth in life and faith and spiritual understanding. Grant them always blamelessly to serve thee with fear and love, and to partake without condemnation of thy Holy Mysteries, and to be accounted worthy of thy heavenly Kingdom:
[Aloud:] That guarded always by thy might we may ascribe glory unto thee: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.

[The Choir now sings the Cherubimic Hymn as far as the words "the King of all"; meanwhile, the Priest reads the Prayer of the Cherubimic Hymn, and prepares to make the Great Entrance.]

The Cherubimic Hymn
People: We who mystically represent the Cherubim, and sing to the life-giving Trinity the thrice-holy hymn, let us now lay aside all earthly care: that we may receive the King of all, who comes invisibly upborne by the Angelic Hosts. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

The Prayer of the Cherubimic Hymn
Priest: [Silently:] No one who is bound with the desires and pleasures of the flesh is worthy to approach or draw nigh or to serve thee, O King of Glory: for to serve thee is a great and terrible thing even to the Heavenly Powers. Nevertheless, through thine unspeakable and boundless love toward mankind thou didst become man, yet without change or alteration, and as Lord of all didst take the name of our High Priest, and deliver unto us the ministry of this liturgic and unbloody sacrifice. For thou alone, O Lord our God, rulest over those in heaven and on earth; who art borne on the throne of the Cherubim; who art Lord of the Seraphim and King of Israel, who alone art holy and restest in thy Holy Place.
Wherefore I implore thee who alone art good and art ready to listen: Look down upon me, a sinner, and thine unprofitable servant, and cleanse my soul and my heart from an evil conscience; and by the power of thy Holy Spirit enable me, who am endued with the grace of the priesthood, to stand before this thy Holy Table, and perform the sacred Mystery of thy holy and immaculate Body and precious Blood. For I draw near unto thee, and bowing my neck I pray thee: turn not thy face from me, neither cast me out from among thy servants; but vouchsafe that these gifts may be offered unto thee by me, thy sinful and unworthy servant: for thou thyself are he that offers and is offered, that accepts and is distributed, O Christ our God: and unto thee we ascribe glory, together with thy Father who is from everlasting, and thine all-holy, and good, and life-giving Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
[The Priest now says the Cherubimic Hymn, censes the Altar, the ikons, and the people, saying Psalm 50 as he goes. He makes three low bows before the Altar, kisses the Antimins and the Altar, turns and bows to the people, and goes to the Prothesis Table; he censes the holy Gifts, bows, and says:]
O God, be gracious unto me a sinner, and have mercy upon me.
[Then he takes up the Aer and places it upon his shoulders saying:] Lift up your hands to the holy Places, and bless ye the Lord.
[The Priest takes up the Diskarion in his left hand, and the holy Chalice in his right hand, and preceded by the Cross and the taper and censer-bearers proceeds around the Temple, saying aloud:] The Lord God remember us all in his kingdom, always: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.

( [In many Churches, the Priest also stands at the foot of the Altar steps and makes remembrances in the following fashion:]

Priest: [Aloud:] Our Most Reverend Archbishop (or Bishop, or Metropolitan) N.: the Lord God remember him in his Kingdom always; now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: The President of the United States and all civil authorities, and our Armed Forces everywhere: the Lord God remember them in his Kingdom always: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: The Orthodox servant(s) of God N., (NN.: that they may have mercy, life, peace, health, salvation and visitation, and pardon and remission of sins: the Lord God remember them in his Kingdom always; now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: The Orthodox servant(s) of God departed this life N. (NN.): the Lord God remember them in his Kingdom always: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen. )
Priest: [Enters the Sanctuary while the Choir sings the remainder of the Cherubimic Hymn; he places the holy Gifts on the Altar, saying quietly:] The noble Joseph, when he had taken down thy spotless body from the tree, wrapped it in fine linen and spices, and sorrowing placed it in a new tomb.
In the Grave with the body, but in Hades with the Soul, as God; in Paradise with the Thief, and on the Throne with the Father and Spirit wast thou, O Christ, filling all things, thyself uncircumscribed.
As giving life, as more splendid than Paradise, and more radiant than any royal chamber, O Christ, is shown forth thy tomb, the fountain of our resurrection.
[The Priest censes the holy Gifts thrice, saying quietly the last part of Psalm 50:] Then shall they offer young bullocks upon thine altar.

People: To thee, O Lord.

The Prayer of the Prothesis
Priest: [Quietly:] OLord, our God, You created us and brought us into this life. You have shown us the way to salvation and have bestowed upon us the revelation of heavenly mysteries. You have appointed us to this service by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Grant, therefore, 0 Lord that we may be accepted as servants of Your new Covenant and ministers of Your holy mysteries. Accept us as we draw near to Your holy altar, according to the multitude of Your mercy, that we may be worthy to offer You this spiritual sacrifice without the shedding of blood, for our sins and for the transgressions of Your people. Grant that, having accepted this sacrifice upon Your holy, heavenly, and spiritual altar as an offering of spiritual fragrance, You may in return send down upon us the grace of Your Holy Spirit. Look upon us, 0 God, and consider our worship; and accept it as You accepted the gifts of Abel, the sacrifices of Noah, the burnt offerings of Abraham, the priestly offices of Moses and Aaron, and the peace offerings of Samuel. As You accepted this true worship from Your holy apostles, accept also in Your goodness, 0 Lord, these gifts from the hands of us sinners, that being deemed worthy to serve at Your holy altar without blame., we may obtain the reward of the faithful stewards on the fearful day of Your just judgment.
[Aloud:] Through the compassions of thine Only-Begotten Son, with whom thou art blessed, together with thine all-holy and good and life-giving Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: Peace be to all.
People: And to thy spirit.
Priest: Let us love one another, that with one accord we may confess:
People: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: the Trinity, one in Essence and undivided.
Priest: [Quietly:] I will love thee, O Lord, my strength: the Lord is my firm foundation, my refuge, and my deliverer.
[Aloud:] The Doors! The Doors! In Wisdom let us attend.

The Creed
People: I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all worlds, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made;
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man;
And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;
And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;
And ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father;
And He shall come again with glory to judge the quick and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spake by the Prophets;
And I believe in One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.
I look for the Resurrection of the dead,
And the Life of the world to come. Amen.

The Anaphora
Priest: Let us stand aright; let us stand with fear; let us attend, that we may offer the Holy Oblation in peace.
People: A mercy of peace, a sacrifice of praise.
Priest: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
People: And with thy spirit.
Priest: Let us lift up our hearts.
People: We lift them up unto the Lord.
Priest:Let us give thanks unto the Lord.
People: It is meet and right to worship Father, Son and Holy Spirit: the Trinity, one in Essence, and undivided.
Priest: [Turns toward the Altar and prays quietly:] Master, Lord, God, worshipful Father almighty, it is truly just and right to the majesty of Your holiness to praise You, to hymn You, to bless You, to worship You, to give thanks to You, to glorify You, the only true God, and to offer to You this our spiritual worship with a contrite heart and a humble spirit. For You have given us to know Your truth. Who is worthy to praise Your mighty acts? Or to make known all Your praises? Or tell of all Your wonderful deeds at all times? Master of all things, Lord of heaven and earth, and of every creature visible and invisible, You are seated upon the throne of glory and behold the depths. You are without beginning, invisible, incomprehensible, beyond words, unchangeable. You are the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the great God and Savior of our hope, the image of Your goodness, the true seal of revealing in Himself You, the Father. He is the living Word, the true God, eternal wisdom, life, sanctification, power, and the true light. Through Him the Holy Spirit was manifested, the spirit of truth the gift of Sonship, the pledge of our future inheritance, the first fruits of eternal blessings, the life giving power, the source of sanctification through whom every rational and spiritual creature is made capable of worshiping You and giving You eternal glorification, for all things are subject to You. For You are praised by the angels, archangels, thrones, dominions, principalities, authorities, powers, and the many eyed Cherubim. Round about You stand the Seraphim, one with six wings and the other with six wings; with two they cover their faces: with two they cover their feet; with two they fly, crying out to one another with unceasing voices and everresounding praises:
[Aloud:] Singing the Triumphal Hymn, shouting, proclaiming, and saying:
People: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord of Sabaoth; heaven and earth are full of thy glory; Hosanna in the highest: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
Priest: [Silently:] Together with these blessed powers, loving Master we sinners also cry out and say: Truly You are holy and mostholy, and there are no bounds to the majesty of Your holiness. You are holy in all Your works, for with righteousness and true judgment You have ordered all things for us. For having made man by taking dust from the earth, and having honored him with Your own image, 0 God, You placed him in a garden of delight, promising him eternal life and the enjoyment of everlasting blessings in the observance of Your commandments. But when he disobeyed You, the true God who had created him, and was led astray by the deception of the serpent becoming subject to death through his own transgressions, You, 0 God, in Your righteous judgment, expelled him from paradise into this world, returning him to the earth from which he was taken, yet providing for him the salvation of regeneration in Your Christ. For You did not forever reject Your creature whom You made, 0 Good One, nor did You forget the work of Your hands, but because of Your tender compassion, You visited him in various ways: You sent forth prophets; You performed mighty works by Your saints who in every generation have pleased You. You spoke to us by the mouth of Your servants the prophets, announcing to us the salvation which was to come; You gave us the law to help us; You appointed angels as guardians. And when the fullness of time had come, You spoke to us through Your Son Himself, through whom You created the ages. He, being the splendor of Your glory and the image of Your being, upholding all things by the word of His power, thought it not robbery to be equal with You, God and Father. But, being God before all ages, He appeared on earth and lived with humankind. Becoming incarnate from a holy Virgin, He emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, conforming to the body of our lowliness, that He might change us in the likeness of the image of His glory. For, since through man sin came into the world and through sin death, it pleased Your onlybegotten Son, who is in Your bosom, God and Father, born of a woman, the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary; born under the law, to condemn sin in His flesh, so that those who died in Adam may be brought to life in Him, Your Christ. He lived in this world, and gave us precepts of salvation. Releasing us from the delusions of idolatry, He guided us to the sure knowledge of You, the true God and Father. He acquired us for Himself, as His chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Having cleansed us by water and sanctified us with the Holy Spirit, He gave Himself as ransom to death in which we were held captive, sold under sin. Descending into Hades through the cross, that He might fill all things with Himself, He loosed the bonds of death. He rose on the third day, having opened a path for all flesh to the resurrection from the dead, since it was not possible that the Author of life would be dominated by corruption. So He became the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep, the first born of the dead, that He might be Himself the first in all things. Ascending into heaven, He sat at the right hand of Your majesty on high and He will come to render to each according to His works. As memorials of His saving passion, He has left us these gifts which we have set forth before You according to His commands. For when He was about to go forth to His voluntary, ever memorable, and life-giving death, on the night on which He was delivered up for the life of the world, He took bread in His holy and pure hands, and presenting it to You, God and Father, and offering thanks, blessing, sanctifying, and breaking it:
[Aloud:] He gave it to His holy disciples and apostles saying: Take, eat, this is my body which is broken for you and for the forgiveness of sins.
People: Amen.
Priest: [Silently:] Likewise, He took the cup of the fruit of vine, and having mingled it, offering thanks, blessing, and sanctifying it.
[Aloud:] He gave it to His holy disciples and apostles saying: Drink of this all of you. This is my blood of the new Covenant, shed for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins.
People: Amen.
Priest: [Silently:] Having in remembrance, therefore, this saving commandment and all those things which have come to pass for us: the Cross, the Grave, the Resurrection on the third day, the Ascension into heaven, the Sitting at the right hand, and the second and glorious Coming:
[The Priest takes up the Diskarion and the Chalice and elevates them over the Antimins; he makes the sign of the Cross with them over the Antimins as he lowers them, saying aloud:] Thine own of thine own we offer unto thee, in behalf of all, and for all.
People: We praise thee, we bless thee, we give thanks unto thee, O Lord, and we pray unto thee, O our God.
Priest: [Makes a low bow before the Altar, and continues with the Prayer of Consecration quietly:] Therefore, most holy Master, we also, Your sinful and unworthy servants, whom You have made worthy to serve at Your holy altar, not because of our own righteousness (for we have not done anything good upon the earth), but because of Your mercy and compassion, which You have so richly poured upon us, we dare to approach Your holy altar, and bring forth the symbols of the holy Body and Blood of Your Christ. We pray to You and call upon You, 0 Holy of Holies, that by the favor of Your goodness, Your Holy Spirit may come upon us and upon the gifts here presented, to bless, sanctify, and make,
[The Priest signs the Holy Bread with the sign of the cross, saying quietly:] This bread to be the precious Body of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
[The Priest makes the sign of the Cross over the Chalice, saying quietly:] And this cup to be the precious Blood of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
[The Priest makes the sign of the Cross over both the holy Gifts, saying quietly:] Shed for the life and salvation of the world. Amen, Amen, Amen.
[The Priest makes a low bow before the Altar and continues the prayer quietly:] And unite us all to one another who become partakers of the one Bread and the Cup in the communion of the one Holy Spirit. Grant that none of us may partake of the holy Body and Blood of Your Christ to judgment or condemnation; but, that we may find mercy and grace with all the saints who through the ages have pleased You: forefathers, fathers, patriarchs, prophets, apostles, preachers, evangelists, martyrs, confessors, teachers, and every righteous spirit made perfect in faith:
[Aloud] Especially our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed and glorious Lady Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary.
People: All of creation rejoices in you, 0 full of grace: the assembly of angels and the human race. You are a sanctified temple and a spiritual paradise, the glory from whom God was incarnate and became a child; our God, existing before all ages. He made your womb a throne, and your body more spacious than the heavens. All of creation rejoices in you, 0 full of grace. Glory to you.
Priest: [Continues the prayer quietly:] For Saint John the prophet, forerunner, and baptist; for the holy, glorious, and most; honorable ; apostles; for Saint(s) (Names), whose memory we commemorate today; and for all Your saints, through whose supplications, 0 God, visit us. Remember also all who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection to eternal life [here the priest commemorates the names of the deceased]. And grant them rest, our God, where the light of Your countenance shines. Again, we pray to You, be mindful of Your holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, which is from one end of the inhabited earth to the other. Grant peace to her which You have obtained with the precious blood of Your Christ. Strengthen also this holy house to the end of the ages. Remember, Lord, those who have brought You these gifts, and for whom and through whom and the intentions for which they were offered. Remember, Lord, those who bear fruit and do good works in Your holy churches, and those who remember the poor. Reward them with Your rich and heavenly gifts. Grant them in return for earthly things, heavenly gifts; for temporal, eternal; for corruptible, incorruptible. Remember, Lord, those who are in the deserts, on mountains, in caverns, and in the chambers of the earth. Remember, Lord, those living in chastity and godliness, in asceticism and holiness of life. Remember, Lord, this country and all those in public service whom you have allowed to govern on earth. Grant them profound and lasting peace. Speak to their hearts good things concerning your Church and all your people that through the faithful conduct of their duties we may live peaceful and serene lives in all piety and holiness. Sustain the good in their goodness; make the wicked good through Your goodness. Remember, Lord, the people here presented and those who are absent with good cause. Have mercy on them and on us according to the multitude of Your mercy. Fill their treasuries with every good thing; preserve their marriages in peace and harmony; nurture the infants; instruct the youth; strengthen the aged; give courage to the faint hearted; reunite those separated; bring back those in error and unite them to Your holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. Free those who are held captive by unclean spirits; sail with those who sail; travel with those who travel; defend the widows; protect the orphans; liberate the captives; heal the sick. Remember, Lord, those who are in mines, in exile, in harsh labor, and those in every kind of affliction, necessity, or distress; those who entreat your loving kindness; those who love us and those who hate us; those who have asked us to pray for them, unworthy though we may be. Remember, Lord our God, all Your people, and pour out Your rich mercy upon them, granting them their petitions for salvation. Remember, 0 God, all those whom we have not remembered through ignorance, forgetfulness or because of their multitude since You know the name and age of each, even from their mother's womb. For You, Lord, are the helper of the helpless, the hope of the hopeless, the savior of the afflicted, the haven of the voyager, and the physician of the sick. Be all things to all, You who know each person, his requests, his household, and his need. Deliver this community and city, 0 Lord, and every city and town, from famine, plague, earthquake, flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreign enemies, and civil war.
[Aloud:] Among the first be mindful, O Lord, of our Metropolitan N., whom do thou grant unto thy holy churches in peace, safety, honor, health and length of days, and rightly dividing the word of thy truth.
People: And of all mankind.
Priest: Remember, Lord, all Orthodox bishops who rightly teach the word of Your truth. Remember Lord, my unworthiness according to the multitude of Your mercies; forgive my every transgression, both voluntary and involuntary. Do not take away the grace of Your Holy Spirit from these gifts presented because of my sins. Remember, Lord, the presbyters, the diaconate in Christ, and every order of the clergy, and do not confound any of us who stand about Your holy altar. Visit us with Your goodness, Lord; manifest Yourself to us through Your rich compassion. Grant us seasonable weather and fruitful seasons; send gentle showers upon the earth so that it may bear fruit; bless the crown of the year of Your goodness. Prevent schism in the Church; pacify the raging of the heathen. Quickly stop the uprisings of heresies by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Receive us all into Your kingdom. Declare us to be sons and daughters of the light and of the day. Grant us Your peace and love, Lord our God, for You have given all things to us:
[Aloud:] And grant us with one mouth and one heart to glorify and praise thine all-honorable and majestic name: of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: [Turning towards the people, blesses them, saying:] And the mercies of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all.
People: And with thy spirit.

The Ektenia Before the Lord's Prayer
Priest: Calling to remembrance all the Saints, again and again in peace let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: For the precious Gifts which have been offered and sanctified, let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: That our God, who loveth mankind, receiving them upon his holy, heavenly, and ideal Altar for an odor of spiritual fragrance, will send down upon us in return his divine grace and the gift of the Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: For our deliverance from all tribulation, wrath, danger, and necessity, let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: Help us; save us; have mercy on us; and keep us, O God, by thy grace.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: That the whole day may be perfect, holy, peaceful, and sinless, let us ask of the Lord.
People: Grant us this, o Lord.
Priest: An angel of peace, a faithful guide, a guardian of our souls and bodies, let us ask of the Lord.
People: Grant us this, o Lord.
Priest: Pardon and remission our sins and transgressions, let us ask of the Lord.
People: Grant us this, o Lord.
Priest: All things good and profitable for our souls, and peace for the world, let us ask of the Lord.
People: Grant us this, o Lord.
Priest: That we may complete the remaining time of our life in peace and repentance, let us ask of the Lord.
People: Grant us this, o Lord.
Priest: A Christian ending to our life, painless, blameless, peaceful; and a good defense before the dread Judgement Seat of Christ, let us ask of the Lord.
People: Grant us this, o Lord.
Priest: Asking for the unity of the Faith, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, let us commend ourselves and each other, and all our life unto Christ our God.
People: To Thee, o Lord.
Priest: [Quietly:] Our God, the God who saves, You teach us justly to thank You for the good things which You have done and still do for us. You are our God who has accepted these Gifts. Cleanse us from every defilement of flesh and spirit, and teach us how to live in holiness by Your fear, so that receiving the portion of Your holy Gifts with a clear conscience we may be united with the holy Body and Blood of Your Christ. Having received them worthily, may we have Christ dwelling in our hearts, and may we become the temple of Your Holy Spirit. Yes, our God, let none of us be guilty before these, Your awesome and heavenly Mysteries, nor be infirm in body and soul by partaking of them unworthily. But enable us, even up to our last breath, to receive a portion of Your holy Gifts worthily, as provision for eternal life and as an acceptable defense at the awesome judgment seat of Your Christ. So that we also, together with all the saints who through the ages have pleased You, may become partakers of Your eternal good things, which You, Lord, have prepared for those who love You.
[Aloud:] And vouchsafe, O Lord, that with boldness and without condmnation we may dare to call upon thee, the heavenly God, as Father, and to say:

The Lord's Prayer
People: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Priest: [Aloud:] For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: Peace be to all.
People: And to thy spirit.
Priest: Let us bow our heads unto the Lord.
People: To thee, O Lord.
Priest: [Quietly:] Lord Master, the Father of mercies and God of every consolation, bless sanctify, guard, fortify, and strengthen those who have bowed their heads to You. Distance them from every evil deed. Lead them to every good work and make them worthy to partake without condemnation of these, Your most pure and life-giving Mysteries, for the forgiveness of sins and for the communion of the Holy Spirit.
[Aloud:] Through the grace and compassion and love torward man of thine Only-begotten Son, with whom thou art blessed, together with thine all-holy, and good, and life-giving Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.

The Elevation
Priest: [Quietly:] Look down, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, from thy holy dwelling-place, and from the throne of the glory of thy kingdom; and come to sanctify us, O thou who sittest on high with the Father, and art here invisibly present with us; and vouchsafe by thy mighty hand to impart unto us thine immaculate Body and precious Blood, and through us unto all the people.
[The priest makes three low bows before the Altar, saying quietly:] O God, be gracious unto me, a sinner, and have mercy upon me.
[Then the priest takes up the holy Bread in both hands and elevates it above the Diskarion, saying aloud:] Let us attend! Holy Things are for the holy.
[As the priest lowers the holy Bread, he makes with it the sign of the Cross, above the Diskarion. Meanwhile, the people sing the following Hymn]
People: One is Holy, One is Lord: Jesus Christ, to the glory of God the Father. Amen. [The people sing the Communion Hymn of the day; on most Sundays, the following Hymn:]

The Communion Hymn
People: Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise Him in the Highest. Alleluia.

The Communion
Priest: [The priest breaks the holy Bread into four parts with great reverence and care, saying quietly:] Divided and distributed is the Lamb of God, who is divided, yet not disunited; who is ever eaten, yet never consumed, but sanctifies those who partake thereof.
[The priest arranges the pieces on the rim of the Diskarion in the form of a cross. Then he takes the portion IC and makes with it the sign of the cross over the Chalice, and places it in, saying quietly:] The fulness of the Cup of the Faith, of the Holy Spirit.
[Then the priest takes the warm water from the Acolyte and blesses it, saying, quietly:] Blessed is the fervor of thy Saints, always: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
[The priest pours a sufficient quantity of the warm water into the Chalice crosswise, saying quietly:] The fervor of faith, full of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
[Then the priest says quietly the following prayers of preparation for the Holy Communion:] I believe, O Lord, and I confess that thou art truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who didst come into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. And I believe that this is truly thine own immaculate Body, and that this is truly thine own precious Blood. Wherefore I pray thee, have mercy upon me and forgive my transgressions both voluntary and involuntary, of word and of deed, of knowledge and of ignorance; and make me worthy to partake without condemnation of thine immaculate Mysteries, unto remission of my sins and unto life everlasting. Amen.
Of thy Mystic Supper, O Son of God, accept me today as a communicant: for I will not speak of thy Mystery to thine enemies, neither will I give thee a kiss as did Judas; but like the thief will I confess thee: Remember me, O Lord, in thy Kingdom.
Not unto judgment nor unto condemnation be my partaking of thy Holy Mysteries, O Lord, but unto healing of soul and body.
[Then the priest makes a low bow before the Altar and says quietly:] Lo, I draw near unto Christ, our immortal King and our God.
[The priest partakes of the particle of the holy Bread XC, saying quietly:] The precious and all-holy Body of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ is imparted unto me, the unworthy Priest N., unto remission of my sins and unto life everlasting.
[Then the priest takes up the Chalice with its veil, and drinks from it, saying quietly:] The precious and all-holy Blood of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ is imparted unto me, the unworthy Priest N., unto remission of my sins and unto life everlasting.
[The priest wipes his lips and the Chalice with the veil, kisses the Chalice and says quietly:] Lo, this hath touched my lips, and shall take away mine iniquities, and purge away my sins.
[Then the priest divides the particles NI and KA of the holy Bread and places them in the Chalice for the Communion of the People. He turns and elevates the Chalice before the people, saying aloud:] With fear of God, and faith and love, draw near.
People: Blessed is he that cometh in the Name of the Lord; The Lord is God and hath revealed himself unto us.
Priest: Then the people who wish to communicate draw near. The priest communicates those who have come forward, saying to each person:] The servant of God N. partakes of the precious and all-holy Body and Blood of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ, unto the remission of sins and unto life everlasting.
People: [Meanwhile the people sing the Hymn:] Of thy Mystic Supper, O Son of God, accept me today as a communicant: for I will not speak of thy Mystery to thine enemies, neither will I give thee a kiss as did Judas; but like the theif will I confess thee: Remember me, O Lord, in thy Kingdom.
Priest: [When all have communicated, the Priest covers the Chalice with the veil and blesses the people with it, saying aloud:] O god, save thy people and bless thine inheritance.
People: We have seen the true light, we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshipping the undivided Trinity: for He hath saved us.
Priest: [Meanwhile the priest wipes the remaining particles on the Diskarion into the Chalice, saying quietly:] Wash away, O Lord, the sins of all those here commemorated, by thy precious Blood: through the prayers of thy Saints.
[Then the priest covers the Chalice and censes it thrice, saying quietly:] Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens, and thy glory above all the earth. Blessed is our God.
[The priest takes the Chalice in his right hand and the Diskarion in his left and turns torward the people; he raises both slowly, with the Chalice above the Diskarion, saying aloud:] Always, now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen. Let our mouths be filled with thy praise, O Lord, that we may sing of thy glory: for thou hast permitted us to partake of thy holy, divine, immortal and life-giving Mysteries. Establish us in thy Sanctification, that all the day long we may meditate upon thy righteousness. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

[Meanwhile the priest places the Chalice and Diskarion upon the Prothesis Table, and returns to the Altar and folds up the Antimins.]

The Ektenia of Thanksgiving
Priest: Attend! Having partaken of the divine, holy, immaculate, immortal, heavenly, life-giving and terrible Mysteries of Christ, let us worthily give thanks unto the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: Help us; save us; have mercy on us; and keep us, O God, by thy grace.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: Asking that the whole day may be perfect, holy, peaceful, and sinless, let us commend ourselves and each other, and all our life unto Christ our God.
People: To Thee, o Lord.

The Prayer of Thanksgiving
Priest: [Quietly:] We thank You, Lord, our God, for the communion of Your holy, most pure, immortal, and heavenly Mysteries which You have granted us for the benefit, sanctification, and healing of our souls and bodies. Grant, Master of all, that the communion of the holy Body and Blood of Your Christ may become for us faith unashamed, love unfeigned, fulness of wisdom, healing of soul and body, repelling of every hostile adversary, observance of Your commandments, and an acceptable defense at the dread judgment seat of Your Christ.
[And making the sign of the Cross over the Antimins with the Gospel Book, the Priest says aloud:] For thou art our sanctification, and unto thee we ascribe glory: to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.
Priest: Let us go forth in peace.
People: In the name of the Lord.
Priest: Let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: [Comes out the Holy Doors and stands before the Icon of Christ, and says aloud the prayer behind the abon:] O Lord, who blessest those who bless thee, and sanctifiest those who put their trust in thee: save thy people and bless thine inheritance; preserve the fulness of thy Church; sanctify those who love the beauty of thy House; glorify them in recompense by thy divine power, and forsake us not who hope on thee. Give peace to thy world, to thy Churches, to the priests, to all civil authorities, to our Armed Forces, and to all thy people: for every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from thee, the Father of Lights, and unto thee we ascribe glory, thanksgiving, and worship: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen. Blessed be the name of the Lord, henceforth and forevermore. [3 times]
Priest: [Goes into the Sanctuary through the Holy Doors and goes to the Prothesis Table, and there quietly says the following prayer:] Completed and perfected, so far as is in our power, O Christ our God, is all the mystery of thy dispensation, for we have had the memorial of thy death, we have seen the type of thy Resurrection, we have been filled with thine unending life, we have enjoyed thine inexhaustible bounty, which also in the age to come be pleased to vouchsafe us all, through the grace of thy Father, who is without beginning, and of thy holy, and good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
[The Priest returns to the Altar and says aloud:] Let us pray to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: [Turning and facing the people, the Priest blesses them saying:] The blessing of the Lord and his mercy come upon you through his grace and love towards man, always: now and ever and unto ages of ages.
People: Amen.

The Dismissal
Priest: Glory to thee, O Christ our God and our hope, glory to thee.
People: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: both now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen. Lord, have mercy; Lord, have mercy; Lord, have mercy. Father, bless.
Priest: May He who rose again from the dead, Christ our true God, through the intercessions of his all-immaculate and all-blameless holy Mother, by the might of the precious and life-giving Cross; by the protection of the honorable Bodiless Powers of heaven; at the supplication of the honorable, glorious Prophet, Fore-runner and Baptist John; of the holy, glorious, and all-laudable Apostles; of our father among the Saints John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople; of the holy, glorious and right-victorious Martyrs; of our venerable and God-bearing Fathers; of (patron Saint of the Church); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God, Joachim and Anna; of Saints (s) N. (NN.), whose memory we celebrate, and of all the Saints, have mercy upon us and save us, forasmuch as he is good and loveth mankind.
Through the prayers of our holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy upon us and save us.
People: Amen.
