Pride Before Fall

When the mountains are so high that I cannot see,
Hold my hand Lord, help me off of my knees.

I need you to help me Lord, when my hearts this low,
Pull me up Lord, and help my feet to go.

I've hit the ground in this lowly space.
And I feel all hopes gone in this time and place.

No where to turn Lord that I see,
Help me lord this is drowning me.

Reach out and touch me Lord, with your hand of grace,
Let me know that you haven't abandoned me in this time and place.

For despair is all I see,
Help me Lord back on my feet.

It's in times of troubles, and times of trials,
We often forget to thank God for what we already have, and forget to smile.

But it's the rocky roads that teach us to care,
Help us be human, and love for those whose heart we bare.

Teach us the humbleness that guides us threw...
that teaches me how to love the way that I love you.

It's hard to believe that God really loves us when we suffer this way,
But that's how he humbles us to our knees, and how a lot of us learn to pray.

For he's often forgotten when things are all good and new,
And it's when we really need him that we seek his truth.

And some of us are so bitter that we've taught our hearts not to care,
But Jesus suffered for our sins most of all and he's always there.

So when you find yourself on a difficult road that you cannot face,
Just look towards Jesus, and the suffering in his face.

The crown of thorns, the cross he bared,
The gash in his side, the nails that were there.

And ask yourself in his place would you have done,
The death on his cross for everyone?

And then you wonder how difficult could this be,
For what he suffered compared to you getting on your knees.

It's so very hard to ask for help.
but isn't it better than suffering by yourself?

For Jesus loved us so much that he gave his own life,
So why is it so difficult to ask for his help in your time of strife?

Get down on your knees, Damned the pride before fall,
and ask God for his love and grace that covers us all.
