Chapter 6

Walker
I walked threw my front door and saw my two little girls playing with their Barbie. "Hi daddy," They said unison.

"Hey baby girls," I said bending down and kissing the both of them on the forehead.

I walked past them and into the kitchen. The house was fairly quiet for once. That is a little unusual for this time of the day but I figured the boys were probably out back enjoying the weather. I looked out the back door and saw my three oldest playing a game of soccer or at least that was what it looked like and I smiled to myself.

This would be the perfect time to talk to my wife about the conversation I had with the record execs. I had today. "Di?" I yelled out walking down the hall.

"I'm in here, honey," Diana voice called out from the laundry room.

I walked in there to find her folding cloths in the chair staring out the window into the yard watching the boys play. "Hey sweetheart," I said as I leaned down and kissed her lovingly.

"What's up?' she asked after I pulled away, "how did the meeting go?"

"It went ok. We were discussing the promotional tour for the fall. They were thinking about starting it off in New York and we planned the schedule for the boys being New York for four weeks. They have us leaving on the 22nd of August and staying till the 17th of September." I told her.

She nodded and smiled slowly, "It's tough schedule for my boys but at least they will only be in one city," she was always worried about the heavy work load on our boys, but she didn't ever really understand how much they actually enjoyed every second of it.

"I was think Di, why don't you and the girls come with us this time," I told her.

She looked at me funny. "You know I would love to go to new York but what’s the point. You guys are coming and going so often that I have no time to do anything. I just end up watching Mackie and the girls." I knew it was hard for her sometimes.

She did feel like our family time was suffering. "Well, I was thinking why don't we leave next week. It will be a much need vacation for our family."

"Walker, I don't know. I mean that's three weeks besides the four we would be there when the boys start up again." She was protesting but I can tell in her eyes she was completely against the idea.

"Come on, it will be great. Just think about it. We can get away from all the stuff that's going on right now. We wont have to worry about letters and worrying that he is in our backyard. No one is going to know were gone. And just think Di, we can actually see the sight of New York with out it being rush. We can go to all the restaurants you have wanted to go to and the carriage rides in central park."

She was silent for a few minutes taking all of it in, "As long as the kids are ok with it, then let's do it." She told me with a half smile.

"Would you be happy baby. This is gonna be the best vacation we have had in a long time. Relax!" I told her grabbing her shoulders and shaking her out.

She laughed a little and I felt her body release some tension. She just need to stay calm.

********
"Boys your mother and I want to talk to you about something," I told my three sons as our family sat down for a nice dinner.

"I talked to the guys at the record company today and they scheduled your promo tour for four weeks from Friday. You guys will be in New York for 4 weeks."

"Oh cool we are just going to New York?" my eldest son asked me.

"Yeah, but your mother and I were thinking about leaving next Friday and having a three week vacation in New York before all the craziness starts next month. It would be down time for us to get our minds off stuff and enjoy the sights of the city," I explained to my boys.

I looked right at Taylor as I had said those things. If anyone need the vacation it was him. I just wanted to take him away from the stress. "That sounds cool!" Zac exclaimed loudly.

"What about you two?"

"Yeah that would be nice," Taylor said looking relieved merely at the thought of being away from these happenings.

"Well, Mom, Dad you know I have a girlfriend now, right?"

I turned to Isaac and stared for a moment, "Ok Isaac what is the relevance of that?" he looked nervous for a moment.

"How can I leave my girlfriend for seven whole weeks. She will find another guy maybe not as hot and wonderful as me but she’ll find someone else!" I smiled a little at his confidence.

"Chewbacca got a girlfriend?" Zac exclaimed loudly sounding shocked.

"Yes!" he said defensively.

"Wait a real girlfriend?" he asked.

“ZACHARY!” I yelled.

Isaac had a hurt look on his face and I was very angry at Zac. Isaac was very sensitive about that subject considering all the harsh things that are said about him. Especially since people are so mean about it. "I was just kidding!" he said defensively.

"Don’t you listen to what they say. I think your gorgeous and any girl would be lucky to have you!" my wife told him as she walked by.

"Thanks mommy," he whined.

"Anyway," I said, "Isaac were not gonna base trips or you and your brothers work schedule around your girlfriend."

"I know, I know. Going to New York would be awesome and I was thinking. Can I ask Shana to come?" I was floored.

My son just asked me to allow him to bring a girl with to come with us. When did he get that old? "NO!" I said firmly.

"Why not?" Did he just have to nerve to ask me why not?

"Why not? Ill tell you why not cause your young and things could happen if you guys have two months together," he looked unwavered.

"Dad whether we were here or in New York we would do something if we wanted to," my eyes shot up and I gave him the look.

"Not that it’s gonna happen but I’m just saying that it could if we wanted to," my look still didn’t break.

"I mean were not going to but... I’m just gonna stop talking."

"Good idea," I told him finally breaking my stare.

"So come on dad what do you say can she come?" was he crazy, really.

"Isaac the answer is no!"

"Oh Walker, stop being so tough maybe we should let him bring her," my wife’s voice said suddenly.

I looked over at her slowly and gave her a look like what the hell are you doing. "Diana, you know that it’s not a good idea,” I turned and gave her a stare and she gave one right back.

“I don’t know about that. It would be good for me to have an older woman around and Isaac would love to spend sometime with his girlfriend. They are seventeen. You remember what it was like when we were seventeen,” she gave me that twinkle in her eyes.

Oh I remember what it was like being seventeen. I wanted her more then she could have imagined. She was young and gorgeous and she was and still is the love of my life. “Yeah Dad, please. She can help Mom babysit and the girls love her,” he smiled.

I can’t believe I was actually going to agree to this. “Ok, she can come,” my wife had won me over.

“YES!” Isaac said jumping up and doing some weird acrobatic move of sorts.

“Wait, don’t be getting too excited. We are setting up some rules that are to never be broken or else you will never walk again.”

“Ok Dad anything.”

“First and foremost, you and her are to not be having any kind of sexual escapades while we are there. Number two, you are going to keep her occupied as much as you can. She is your guest don’t dump her off on your mother. Number three, she will be sleeping in the same room as your sisters and you will be with your brothers. No exceptions nothing. Do I make myself clear young man?” I was stern.

I was not ready to be a grandpa. “Thanks Dad. Thanks Mom. Can I be excused I want to go ask her and see if she can come!” he said looking like he wasn’t able to sit still.

“Go ahead sweetheart,” my wife said.

He ran from the room extremely happy and my wife touched my shoulder, “That was very sweet of you,” she winked at me and I knew what that meant.

I was going to get paid for my good deeds later. Maybe it wasn’t that bad of an agreement after all.

Isaac
"Hey honey," Shawna said as she answered her front door.

"Hey," I wanted to kiss her with a big huge hello kiss but I was nervous her parents might be spying on us.

"No kiss?" she asked with a little disappointment in her eyes.

"Well, I just want to make sure your Dad isn't hiding back there with a baseball bat just waiting for me to touch so he could beat me." I told her as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

"My parents," she said as she got close to me, "Are gone for the evening."

And then she kissed me this time. "Really?" I asked still having to look around to make sure that they weren't spying on us.

"Would you just close the door and come in here with me," she said with that little giggle that I love so much.

I closed the door behind us and we sat over on the couch. I told myself I was going to behave with her. I didn't have to touch her all the time. "I'm... I have to talk to you about something Shawna," I said quietly.

I was nervous about asking her. I don't really know why but I was. I mean if she says no I know I wont be seeing her for almost two whole months and I don't know if I could survive without seeing her.

She stared about for a moment almost like she was searching my eyes for some explanation. "Umm.. is it bad?" she now seemed as nervous as me.

"No, no not at all. Well it depends," I said thinking that it would be bad if the answers were no.

"Depends on what?" she asked.

"On you," I said with a half smile.

Suddenly she pulled her hand away that I had cradle in my hands, "Shawna?" I asked confused.

"Are you breaking up with me?" she looked like she might actually cry.

"Break up with... NO WAY!" I said laughing, "Shawna I wouldn' t break up with you if you wanted me too." She looked at me again with a strange look and then a smile spread across her face.

"You big retard!" she yelled smacking my chest playfully and kissing me.

I kissed her back gently trying to be as soft as she was perfect. She pulled away and leaned her forehead against mine. I caressed her cheek. "I think I would have died if you broke up with me," she said with a little laugh.

"Well you will never have to worry about that, cause it's never going to happen." I told her.

"Yeah right. You're a rock star now. Your going to find a girl that will make me look like nothing." I just laughed.

There was no one out there that could make me feel like she was anything less then perfection. "Would you stop worrying about this," I finally said.

I didn't want to see her look like this anymore. I want to see her smile. God I love her smile. "Ok," she moped but I knew there was a twinkle on her eye.

"So I really need to talk to you about something," I said to her getting that nervous feeling again.

"Ok," she was still as nervous as before but this time she was going to let me say what I have to say before she gets upset.

"Alright, well my Dad talked to the guys at our record company that schedules are appearances and stuff like that today and they scheduled out promos to pretty much be taken place in New York City. We start in about a month and we will be there for four weeks," I watched her expression on her face was one of sadness.

I guess she didn't want me to be gone that long. "Well, my Dad asked us tonight over dinner if we would want to go early to get away from it all around her you know with everything that is going on with Taylor.”

She got a sympathetic look in her eyes. "Yeah, I still can't get over that. How is Taylor?"

"He is ok. I mean the good thing is he hasn't gotten a letters or anything, so we think it might have been a cruel joke, but he's so cautious about things. Like we were outside playing soccer before dinner and he kept looking around to see if someone was there watching him. It makes me sad that he is that nervous." I confided my feelings about the Taylor thing with her before and I needed to get it out again.

"Poor Taylor. I hope they find how ever's doing it joke or not," she said with anger.

"Me too, But well my parents want to go to New York for three weeks before the four. They think it will be nice to get away," she seemed so disappointed.

"You mean your gonna be gone for seven weeks?" I nodded.

"That is so long. I'm gonna miss you so much." she was about to cry.

"Shawna, I.." she wasn't listening to me and she kept going.

"When are you going?"

"Next week," she looked like if I touched her she would have fell over.

Suddenly she flung herself on me and hugged me so tightly. "Next week! that is so soon How am I gonna survive without you for seven weeks?" she was crying I could hear it in her voice.

"You don't have to," I said.

She stopped and pulled away, "What?" she seemed so confused.

“You don't have to. My parents want you to come with us." Her mouth feel open.

I mean it actually feel open. "Your parents want me to come with your family?"

"Well, I wanted you to come, so I asked them and they said it was ok as long as your ok with it and we follow some rules. My Mom would love to have some help with the kids," I smiled widely at her and she blushed.

"I... I am... I have no idea what to say," she seemed surprised.

"Say you'll come," I need her in New York with me.

I knew she would make every day a little better. A little brighter. "Of course I will come, I mean as long as my parents are cool with it," she said remembering that she still had to ask for permission.

I kissed her strongly and brought her to me. “Your so beautiful,” I whispered.

She giggled and bit her lip that made her look sexy and innocent all at once. I couldn’t resist I had to have her and touch her. I laid her down on the couch and messed around for hours.
