NICK ARCADE: THE ULTIMATE EPISODE GUIDE

I've always loved Nick Arcade...how could I not? This show had it all; fun video games, rockin' music, an awesome host, and a bonus round that still looks impressive even today! For the past couple years I've tracked down as many episodes as I could and watched them all from open to credits, taking detailed notes all the way. Here are the fruits of that labor. :)

I should stress that this is not an official Nickelodeon page, nor am I in any way, shape, or form affiliated or employed with them. This is merely a tribute to one of their greatest shows; a 100% fan effort, made for other fans to enjoy.

This guide wouldn't be as good as it is now if it weren't for some truly awesome folks pitching in. Special thanks to:

Season 1

-This season begun taping on Nov. 16, 1991, and continued until early December. The first episode was a sneak preview that aired at 7 pm on Jan. 3, 1992. It debuted in its regular timeslot one day later; Saturdays and Sundays at 5:30 PM.
-In most cases, four episodes were filmed per day; between the second and third taped episodes, Phil would change his outfit, and the locations for rounds 1 and 2 would switch. Each tape date uses the same Face-Off and bonus round games, and the Video Challenge games remain constant for all but one taping session.
-Out of 42 episodes, only 33 reran on Nick GaS. Five skipped episodes circulate from 90s Nick airings. All skipped episodes feature either Hyper Channels or Video Repairman.
-The first 14 episodes were posted to iTunes on Dec. 2, 2013, and Amazon not long after. Most of them are listed as airing on various weekend dates in 1997; they were rerun on that date. Three of these episodes do indeed circulate from the given rerun dates. The prize plugs on the iTunes copies are the same as they were in the Nick GaS reruns. For whatever reason, episodes 8-14 are listed with silly titles instead of contestant names.
-The first 10 episodes were also available on VRV'S NickSplat streaming channel starting on the channel's launch on Aug. 28, 2018, but were removed sometime before Oct. 2, 2018.
-All 42 episodes were uploaded to Paramount+ on March 24, 2021. The prize plugs are the same as they were on GaS/iTunes. The airdates listed for the first 14 episodes are all one day before the Amazon listings; the rest of the rerun dates given are assuming all of them are one day off.

Season 2

-This season taped in June 1992, and begun airing on Sep. 1, 1992. After season 2 ended, reruns of both seasons continued on Nickelodeon until Sep. 28, 1997.
-Only 31 of the 42 episodes reran on Nick GaS. Two skipped episodes circulate on the trading circuit from Nick airings. In what is certainly not a coincidence, none of the GaS-aired episodes use the Video Repairman puzzle...and all the skipped episodes have it.
-This season gets a new set…it looks similar to the old one, but there are noticeable changes.
-Five episodes from this season were available on TurboNick in the late 2000s; one of those episodes NEVER aired on GaS. All of the TurboNick versions of the episodes had their original plugs intact, even though all the GaS airings had them replaced!
-All 42 episodes were uploaded to Paramount+ on March 24, 2021; episode 80 was accidentally left out, with an extra copy of 83 in its place. (The Amazon Prime addon for Paramount+ has the episode.) The first taped episode of season 2 is accidentally listed as a season 1 episode. With one exception, the prize plugs are the same as they were on GaS. Paramount+ lists 1996 airdates for most of them (which also all seem to be one day off), but likely don't apply to these specific copies since many contain prize plugs that concretely date to 1997.
