Chapter

“Eos, hold on.”
Selene rubbed her hands over her sister’s round stomach.
“Did you hear? Selene,
it’s a boy.” Selene’s hands
jerked back.
“Your heir is a male? According
to Persephone, death is licking your toes: this will be your last baby.
Your heir… a boy? This has
never happened before.”
Eos gripped Selene’s arm; her face sweaty, but her eyes happy.
“It was said boys are stronger than girls.
Accept him. He will be the
only mistake of the Gods.”
Selene nodded and slipped out of the room, leaving her sister to the
nurses. Their brother would accept
another male god. He despised
problems, especially ones that weren’t for the better.
Selene hoped this would be the last… incident.
Helios would rather lose a goddess than have one replace a god.
Selene’s teeth clenched. Her
heir was female, but she knew this Helios would always look down on females,
even when he bathed in the fires of Tartarus.
Her silver hair curved
around her head, making her more irresistibly beautiful than before.
Selene was in a short silver dress, held by one strap on her shoulder.
She pulled on long leather, black boots and adjusted her amulet, its
blue-grey moon reflecting an unnatural silver tinge of light around the room.
The sun rising behind the moon glimmered with a supernatural golden light
and the star, a paranormal violet. She
was of many colors, but no colors at the same time.
Selene brushed on silver glittering nail polish and highlighted her hair
with silver glitter until she was completely vamped up.
When she exited the bathroom she blew a kiss to her reflection.
Using her magic, she distorted her reflection.
It winked back at her and waved, coyly.
She laughed and slipped down the stairs.
Eddy, waiting at the door, took one look at Selene and said, “We’re
not going on a hunt.”
Selene laughed again and, using hand signals, told him to ‘pick of his
feet and get ready to rock the house.’ He
grinned and rolled his eyes at his sister, “Don’t waste your voice.
You need to sing for Black Sno.”
Selene wandered ahead of Eos, her heels clicking against the ground.
Black Sno White Coal was right next door to their cabin, so they used
their feet to get around.
“Selena, hey! What’s
up?” Selene let out a short gasp
as Persephone came floating over. She
wore a black dress that dragged smoothly on the ground.
Her beautiful face had grown rather cold and her gold hair had become
tousled. Her feet were not seen
beneath her dress, but all of the gods knew her feet hovered just above the
ground.
“So much for never leaving Tartarus,” Selene said, hugging her
friend. She cocked her head,
“Planning to convince Chaos to open here, Persephone?”
Persephone shook her head. “Here,
I’m
Selene nodded. The welcoming
of the long-lost goddess.
The three arrived at BW, what they called the long-named Black Sno White
Coal Night Club, guys admiring Selene and Persephone.
The girls ditched Eddy and entered the party.
All of the high schoolers hung out at BW.
The goddesses joined the two, exchanging smiles with the Goddess or Queen
of the dead. Hecate, goddess of the
moon in the underworld and goddess of witches linked hands with Selene and
Artemis, both moon goddesses as well. Power
surged between them and their amulets shone with energy.
In the corner, Selene faintly noticed Helia sitting in the corner.
The red head was a goody girl who didn’t dance any more than ballet.
