WATER SOFTENER
The water softener is used t= o remove calcium and
magnesium (hardness) from th= e water.
Its main purpose is to prote= ct the RO unit from having
to work too hard.
Two har= dness test are taken daily post the softener to 
ensure that the unit is func= tioning properly (one in the
morning before the first pat= ient shift and one in the
afternoon).
Hardness should be below 1gp= g. If the hardness is
higher than 1gpg contact BES= T. IT IS STILL SAFE TO
RUN TREATMENTS.=  
The brine tank next to the softener stores salt which is used to regenerate t= he softener. The salt
level in the brine tank should always be above water level. If you see water in= the brine tank, add
salt until the water is no longer visible.
