The rules are very similar to pro wrestling, but with a little more lenience (now that's lenient!). Basically, the monsters can do whatever they want, including killing the opponent. Instead of folding chairs and tables, they use cars and buildings. Instead of a ring, they use a small but high city on a small island dubbed "Fight Island". The way you win is about the same:

Pin: The loosing monster is on its back with its shoulders to the ground with the opponent on top of it for 3 seconds. For monsters with no shoulders, it must be their entire "back". The "back" and "shoulders" will be determined by the creative control department (run by me and staffed by me, of course. I'm the commissioner of WMW too.).

Submission: If the loosing monster is put in a "hold" (including choke hold, I told you it was lenient!) by the opponent, and "taps out" (hit's something three times with any limb. If it has no "limb", it has to mentally say, "I quit".). "Holds" must be regestered in the creative control department by the monsters. Examples include UN Mechagodzilla's "G-Crusher" and Gorgo's "Union Jack"

TKO: The loosing monster dies (that's as lenient as it gets!).

Give Up: At any time in the match, a monster can mentaly say "I quit", and retreat to the holding area on a nearby island. They will loose the match if they do this, but it saves them from further pain.

Ten Count: If a monster is incapacitated, the referee can do a slow count to ten, and that monster looses. If both monsters are down, a mandatory ten count will be issued, and after that, the first one that shows noticable movement wins. If neither one moves within ten minutes, it will result in a tie.

Count Out: If a monster leaves the designated area for more than 20 seconds (more lenience added), it looses. This is one way a tie can happen. Another way is that they both die at the same time (1 second gap maximum). The designated area is "Fight Island", a 1 mile radius around it, and anywhere in outer space, exept certain areas (like satellites, space stations, moon colonies, ext.). Going out of bounds is highly restricted, so hopefully this will never happen.

Here is a list for the many types of matches you might see:

Singles match = 1 vs. 1
Tag Team Match = 2 vs. 2 / 3 vs. 3 / 4 vs. 4
Handicap Match = 2-4 vs. 1 / 3-5 vs. 2
Triangle Match = 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
4 Way Dance = 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1
Battle Royal = 5 or more monster all fighting individualy, last one standing wins
Gountlet Match = 5-20 vs. 1
Tournament = 8 indviduals or teams compete in elimination matches untill only 1 left
Random Teams = teams selected randomly from list of 10-50 individuals
"I Quit" Match = Pins are not allowed, and monsters are incouraged to win by way of "Give Up".
First Blood Match = Monsters are eliminated if they "bleed"
Torch Match = Monsters are eliminated if they are set on fire
Ladder Match = A belt is suspended over the park by a Planet X saucer, and the way to win is to get it down. A giant metal ladder is provided to get up there, and "flying" is not alowed.
Table Match = Giant folding tables are provided in a match. Monsters are eliminated if they go through a table.
Hardcore Match = Giant versions of folding chairs, baseball bats, trash cans, lumber, cooking trays, tables, ladders, rings steps, and various other items are provided to be used in a match.
Steel Cage Match = the biggest darn cage you ever did see is built to hold monsters in any type of fight.

In order for a team to win, all monsters on the opponents's team must be deafeated.

The monsters in WMW are basicly the most recent version of them. They will essentially look like the most recent form of the monster. However, using a special brain-inducing proccess, the monsters have been inserted with the memory of past forms. They can re-learn their own history and the moves that their predecessors knew. For example: Gojira is the one from "Godzilla 2000", but it knows past moves like the overhead flip slam, the tail slide drop-kick, and the abilitie to "fly" using thermonuclear breath.

Monsters compete for "belts". These are a common thing in pro wrestling. They are like trophies that you wear. WMW has 7 belts to compete for, each with it's own regulations to decide what type of monster can earn it. They are very very large, made out of gold coated space titanium on a sythetic leather strap. All belts are designed to be worn by a monster of around 55 m. in height, exept the US belt, which is standardized at 50 ft. A belt is won by defeating a monster with a belt, or winning a special match after a seasonal event. On a seasonal event, all title are stripped. No monster can hold more than one belt at a time. A title holder must fight every weak. If not, they will be stripped of the title, and a special match will happen to decide a new champion. A title holder must fight every week, but doesn't have to defend the title every week. But, the title must be defended every other week. At any time other than during a match, a monster may relinquish the belt. There is also two trophies to win at special seasonal events. No monster can earn a trophy twice, but they can hold both trophies. For more info, see the Belt History Page.

That's about all there is to the rules. It's a "no holds barred" fight! A monster is put immediately under control after a match, so it can be put away, the other monsters receive medical attention if necessary, and the "Beta 13" can do it's job to prepare for the next match. If a monster runs out of control and can't be stopped, it is disqualified and the other monster wins. This should never happen and hopefully it doesn't, because we can get in big trouble if a monster escapes and attacks Tokyo. It isn't really a rule for the match itself; it's after a match so the match really has no rules! The reason there are no rules is because there is none in the movies, so no rules in here makes sense, don't it?
