Interviewer: So how does it feel to be the first ever 2-Time WMW World Champion?
Marcus Black: “It’s great, besides the fact that now I have to become the first ever 2-Time, 3-Year Champion… Scratch that, when I become the first ever 2-Time 3-Year Champion.”

I: So you’re confident that you will be able to hold onto the belt; the same way you did in your first reign?
MB: “Confident? Confidence has nothing to do with it. The fact that I’m Marcus Black is all there is to it.”

I: To be fair, Marcus, the World title scene is a lot more heated that in was during your first reign.
MB: “Well, Marcus Black is the water to cool off that scene. I’ve beaten them all at one time or another. Sure, a couple have gotten a lucky win every now and then, but at the end of the night, Marcus Black is always on top.”

I: You’ve had your fair share of success, but after you lost the championship, you seemed to struggle with just about everyone. In fact, I can’t recall a single victory over Jesse Swanson or The Insurance Policy that wasn’t somewhat tainted.
MB: “One man’s taint is another man’s victory. Jesse Swanson and The Insurance Policy are both good competitors in their own right, but neither of those competitors held this title for three years. The Insurance Policy has never held it, and as long as I’m champion, he won’t ever hold it. As far as Jesse is concerned, I see him as the Little Engine That Could, and I’m a cow on the tracks. As much as he thinks he can, there’s no way around this cow.

I: So who do you think will be your toughest opponent?
MB: “Myself. I try to top myself night after night. If you could book Marcus Black vs. Marcus Black, I’m not sure who’d come out the winner.”

I: So you’re not concerned with other competitors? What about Jacob Munford? What about the man who, since WMW’s resurgence you have yet to beat, Jeremy?
MB: “Jacob Munford… the guy who wants to be friends. I’ll be his friend if he admits that the sun set on his career in 1995. Jeremy is a no-nothing hack. I made him a star, and to thank me, he lights me on fire. Well, I’m on fire now, because I’m the WMW World Champion. Who’s gonna stop me?

I: There’s one other competitor we haven’t touched on: Davyd Black. Davyd seemed poised to be the man to end Jesse Swanson’s championship reign up to this point. Do you think Davyd’s desire to be the champion will lead him down the same path taken by The Insurance Policy and Jeremy?
MB: “Blood is thicker than gold, in a metaphoric way. Davyd and I couldn’t be tighter if we were conjoined twins. I’ll happily defend my title against him… And that’s what it’ll be: a title defense, since I’ll still walk away the champ.

I: Any closing words?
MB: “My closing words will come in 3 years, when I go down in history as the first ever 2-Time, 3-Year Champion. I’m Marcus Black, remember that and forget everything else you know about wrestling.
