WHY JESSE SWANSON SHOULD THANK MARCUS BLACK

About five years ago, West Michigan Wrestling opened it's doors and gave a relative newcomer named Jesse Swanson a place to make a name for himself. While Swanson had a few matches in the now defunct AWF (Anarchy Wrestling Federation) and FXCW (F***ing Xtreme Championship Wrestling), he'd never worked a regular wrestling schedule. WMW talent scouts were impressed by what they'd seen, but were unsure how the inexperienced Swanson would fare against the more experienced WMW Roster. In fact, Swanson lost in the first round of the WMW Championship tournament to a woman. Things weren't looking incredibly bright for the career of Jesse Swanson in WMW...until Marcus Black took him under his wing.

His alliance with Marcus Black and Crusher (now known as "Just" Jeremy) gave Swanson two tutors who had more experience and success then he'd yet to accomplish. Both Marcus and Crusher played important roles in the development of Swanson's career, but it was Marcus Black who helped the most. While Crusher was busy defending his WMW Championship, Marcus was training with Swanson, building his confidence and helping his moves, timing & strategy. Unfortunately, like most of Marcus' alliances, his relationship with Swanson was short lived. Swanson's jealousy, and feeling that he wasn't getting enough of the spotlight led to him ending the allegience. After Marcus Black had become WMW Champion, Swanson couldn't accept that he wasn't the star he wanted to be. Even with loss after loss, Swanson somehow weasled his way into title match after title match, always falling victim to the 9/11. To Swanson's dismay in the winter of 2003, WMW closed it's door with Marcus Black still WMW Champion.

Three years later, WMW was ressurected, and the first episode of Backyard Assault was headlined by Swanson challenging Marcus Black once again for the WMW Championship. Swanson finally acheived what he'd been waiting years for, as he pinned Marcus Black to win the Championship.

The chemistry in the ring between Swanson and Black is obvious, and I don't think anyone brings out the best of Swanson more than Marcus Black. If it weren't for the training Marcus Black provided Swanson, not to mention giving him title shot after title shot, Jesse Swanson wouldn't be where he is today, and Swanson should thank Marcus Black for everything he's done for his career.
