Omniverse Directory

This is a list of various worlds that have crossed over with one another. This is not a list of every fictional world, as that is next to impossible to make. It is simply a listing of the many worlds that have crossed over with one another as discussed elsewhere on this page.

Masters of the Universe

A toyline developed by Mattel in 1981.

Mini-eternia. The original version of the story, as told in the mini-comics included with the first figures, showed He-man as a wandering barbarian. A great war has ravaged Eternia, which caused a dimensional rift allowing Skeletor to arrive on the planet. The Sorceress, called the Goddess in early stories, helps He-man, who finds one half of the Power Sword. Skeletor has the other half. Whoever has both halves can control Castle Greyskull and the Universe.

Most fans are more familiar with the Filmation cartoon and Marvel Comic. Here there is no mention of the Power Sword. He-man has a secret identity of Prince Adam, and defends Greyskull from Skeletor. He later learns he has a twin sister Adora in Etheria. She eventually becomes She-ra and fights Hordak and the Evil Horde, whom Skeletor was once a member.

Connected to this was Pre-Eternia, which was only vaguely developed. It was an ancient Eternia where He-Ro, apparently a great wizard, fought the Snake Men. Another concept that was never developed had Prince Adam becoming king and having a son named He-Ro.

In 1987, there was a live action He-man movie where the characters come to earth. It may or not be part of the above cannon. One interesting note is the Marvel comics adaptation of the movie added a scene at the end where an American flag is found deep in Castle Grayskull. In addition a NASA flag is found bearing the words "Starfinder 5. July 10, 2221." suggesting that Eternians are descendants of American space explorers.

In 1989, a new anime-ish cartoon called the New Adventures of He-man aired. Here He-man was sent to the future to aid the Galactic Gaurdians. Skeletor was also sent in the future by accident, and led a new set of villains.

The franchise was relaunched briefly in 2002 with a new cartoon that gave more back story to the mythology. One interesting addition was that there was a King Grayskull who fought evil from his Castle, which we know of as Castle Grayskull.
