Chimera Once upon a time in Greece, Not far from the Golden Fleece, There lived a lion. Well, lion isn't the right Word to describe this fright. It's just a name I'm tryin'. What do you call this beast? Terrifying to say the least. Horrible to say the worst. What is a creature with three heads? That made sure the nearby people were dead? I think it was cursed. Head of a ram sprouting from its back, That head horns didn't lack. Just a mind. I think the chimera was a mistake. Its tail was a snapping snake. Anyone it could find Went down three hungry throats, Those of lion, serpent, and goat. A lion's body it had. Horns and claws and huge wings. My, it did dreadful things! Have I told you it's bad? From its mouth spouted fire. You'd better not rouse its ire, Or you'd be missed. When it was finally killed, All the birds in Grecian trees trilled. Some people say it didn't exist. All right, it isn't real. But if it was, you'd be its meal, Mr. Smartie-Pants. For me, the Chimera is a creature of Myth, but still I love The legends where it dances.
