English

By the side of the river called Glassfoam,
There dwelt long ago a maiden in a house soaked with glittering water.
There long ago she laughed innocently under the brilliant-leaved trees,
And she knew interest, and innocent joy,
For pride in her accomplishments sparkled round her like the water.
But perfect love and great sadness waited for her,
For she dwelt, this maiden, on the banks of the Glassfoam.

We do not know now the name of this maiden,
But she was incomparably beautiful, as all children of Rowan.
From Rowan to Ciebelos coming in the blossoming of the world,
Could she be but a hero in beauty?

By the side of Cibelos she dwelt and she sang,
And she elwensang to the stars in the highest heavens.
Indeed, it was her voice that created the trouble,
For there dwelt one in the water very loving of voices.
