Silver Dusk The shore shone in the silver dusk; The stars glinted in the night With faint twisting sparks of light. The sand sparkled like stardust Shaken from the heaven-tree- And the moon came out of the sea. The waves came in like horses; The shore was scattered with the shells That tremble in the light like bells. The foam was flung up its courses Like words from poets flowing free- And the moon came out of the sea. The constellations wheeled above; The night whispered and lulled to sleep The restless motions of the deep. A wind like a sigh of love Went along the shore towards thee- And the moon came out of the sea.
