I saw her cauliflower face, covered with pockmarks, over springy skin, and I knew the rest of her body had skin with the same texture. I wanted to kiss her. With that skin, a little chubby, a little springy. Her legs with the crenulations of cottage cheese. I wanted to hold her in my arms, to have that skin and body against me. But I knew that that desire was shallow, that I didn’t know her personality, and that she was going onwards on the train. So I left her alone, My desire to hold her in my arms unrequited. |

I saw on the train after I got off the red line. A little “springy” was misread as a little “spongy” during transcription, and I considered keeping that but went back to springy.
