These two poems were written together about the same person.
TRUE BEAUTY
My heart in abounds,
it does not rest,
for here I have found
the best of the best.
But here I lie,
an inadequate suitor,
in love with a lady,
above all my tutors.
I look up to my idols
and they shake their heads as I do
because you're not just too good for me;
you're too good for them too.
And we're all befuddled
at this beauty I've found
it's got me all muddled
with my head spinning 'round.
Far too good for me,
too good for my tutors too,
so what shall she be,
this girl that be you?
I look up to the Prince,
I look up to Scooby,
I look up to Indiana,
none have seen such beauty.
They offer me no advice
for they have none to give,
and being on my own,
all I do is wish.
I wish that I were worthy,
I wish that I were great,
I wish that if you had love for me,
I wish, that it I could take.

ALAS
But alas, I have no worry,
alas, it should wait 'til morrow,
alas, you love me not,
alas, to my great sorrow.
Alas, here I am stuck,
alas, in love unto you,
alas, my hands are tied,
and alas, 'tis but ado.
Alas, here comes my heartache,
alas, my problem begot,
alas, because I love you, my sweet
and alas, because you love me not.
Alas to the lonely unalone
alas, woe is me,
alas, I am stricken,
alas, in love I be.
Alas, with love eternal
alas until the end,
alas, poor me,
alas, in love with my best friend.
