I am a broken branch pretending to be straight. You -- liking me -- (and I liked you) came up to me and grasped me and bent me. I can pretend to be straight well enough that I was fine. But then you twisted   when I asked you not to and I am filled with pain. I scream. Why would you not listen when I told you I was broken? I did not say so, but I begged you not to twist. Now the new damage is permanent and I am broken further. How can I trust again? |
