I hold a flower in the doorway of your house, but you don't realize that I am holding a candle to the doorway of my heart. You can look inside all the nooks and crannies, all the places that nobody else has looked before. All of the places that I have never let anybody look before, because I have never invited anybody so far inside. I stand before you with my eyes open and clear, with an exuberance for life that only the daring possess. Are you intimidated by the magnitude of holding somebody's heart in your hands? You shouldn't be. But be careful before you peer into a man's heart, you might be surprised at the beauty which you find. |

Fictional.
But inspired by the smile of a woman named Lauren.
I was initially unhappy with the second and third stanzas, but I felt that the last two made up for it, and I was happy with the diction of "...only the daring possess."
The last stanza is directly based on wording by Nakago (pretty close to a paraphrasing of his words).
Liked listening to JJAMZ heartbeat song while writing it.
