After she hadn't called me in a week or whatever. Felt like things were over, like it wasn't real, or like I wasn't right (like I had cost it unknowingly)- but still grateful.
Note: The second before 2nd place means to be coming a second ahead of second place -- so it's that 1 second for 2nd place catching up - when you're first. I recognize that it's not clear that that's what it means, but I've accepted that.
