I AM A MAN

I am a man
with dreams, and hopes, and ambitions, and needs.
When I turn off lights and the world is asleep,
I climb up to the stars
and look down at the world-
thinking about whether I want to spend my time
becoming a world famous scientist,
or making my friends' lives happier instead.

My poetry is a beautiful place to spend my time,
but I don't have the freedom for that either
when I am working on my science excessively.

If only it was not a world with no middle ground,
if only it was a world where I could do science
and poetry,
by spending only a few hours a day on science
and the rest of my time with daisies.
