I can cry when you are not looking I can cry when you are not there but I cannot cry in front of you, because then you might think it is because of you. I cry from the pain inside of me, not from the things you said. You are allowed to be a pretty bird I only cry because I am on the ground. It is not because I want to fly, it is only because I want to be with you. |

My crying is not actually from feeling left behind, it's from feeling uncared for, but I placed a different narrative in the poem.
A few months later, however the narrative in the poem did feel how I felt.
