Katie,

I know you miss me even if you don't know it.
I know that you miss more than the feel of my arms;
I know that you also miss the look of my eyes-
the way that it felt to have somebody who understood you,
your desire to change the world.
To have somebody who cherished poetry in the cup of their hand,
as much as you did.
To have somebody who wanted to walk outside
where the breeze and the leaves reign -- as much as you did.
I know that you love me for all of these reasons and more,
and I can't wait until the next time
we get to see a play together.
