I MUST'VE FORGOTTEN

How can you say "because I didn't forget."

Everybody forgets things.

How can you be so sure?

I'm sure I showed it to you.

I can remember it clearly.

I can remember the grinning

and the snuggling

and the happiness.

And yet, I acknowledge the possibility

that my memory is fallible

and that maybe I didn't show it to you,

even though in my mind I know I did.

But you won't acknowledge the possibility

that you may have forgotten

even though we've seen

that even your memory is fallible.

I can't believe you were so unreasonable.

And I can't believe what you said.

It makes me want to commit suicide.
