Love hurts But I don't know any other way to live. While driving to work, one day I see your face in my memory and my heart begins to crumple in my chest like it's just shell made of paper. Through sheer strength of will I stop it from crumpling past halfway, And try to blow air back into it, gently,– Like a pioneer in the isolated wilderness stoking a small flame to get bigger, gently, but firmly. I go about my day and gradually, over hours, my heart fills back out to being battered rather than crumpled and I'm okay for a few days    again. |
