MY POEMS ON YOU

I keep my poems on you
in a locked box
that I have not opened.
I look at the box
as if I can see through the wall,
and I imagine what is inside.
But I am uncertain, tentative.
I do not know if I will find
vegetables that are wholesome
or dessert that is divine.
I hold the box and keep it
among my personal items, safe,
and away from other people.
Some things have meaning
beyond their physical components
and are meant to be for one person only.
This box is mine,
to open,
but I do not want to open it,
yet.

The parts from "I hold the box" to "one person only" are a bit rough.
I may change them slightly eventually.
