Sitting on the rocks above the ocean, |
a silhouette amongst the stars |
my dark hair blows in the wind |
while the tumulous waves beneath |
crash and gurgle against the reefs. |
and a quick survey of the world reveals |
that I'm alone and the only one that there is, |
for it's all becoming clear to me now, |
Of course! Justice is blind. |
I'm innocent, but it doesn't matter, |
because justice is blind. Justice doesn't care about innocence. |
All justice cares about is what's best for the future. |
That's why I've been punished, that's why I'm going to be punished. |
Because I'm not what's best- not because I'm not innocent. |
So I'll just have to face my peril. |
It really doesn't seem fair, |
but that doesn't really matter. |
All that matters is what's best- |
and I'm not. |
|
So I sit upon these raise'd rocks, |
hanging above the ocean's depths, |
ready to be buried beneath the black hills below, |
staring away into the blackness... in waiting. |
