She used to pull her heart out from her pocket to check the time and it was always four minutes early. Then one day she met a man with dreams for eyes, And the time became three minutes and 50 seconds early. Then they went on their first date and the time became three minutes and 40 seconds early. They shared their first kiss and the time became three minutes and 30 seconds early. They made love for the first time and the time became three minutes early. They made love many times, and watched many movies and visited many parks and talked much, and the time became two minutes early. He proposed. The time became one minute early. They got their families blessings to marry and the time became 20 seconds early. He kissed her neck. The time became 10 seconds early. They said the words "I do" and the time became on-time. She started to live the rest of her life. |
Copyright ©2017 Ashi Shadow - 3/16/17 inspired by thinking about my other poem called pocket heart.
Part of what I thought about in the end while writing it was Addie.
Considered "dreams in his eyes".
Not a perfect poem, but I think the concept is sufficiently displayed.
Perhaps it can be written to be better later, by myself or somebody else.
But only if it gets better, not worse.
