REBUD

I have watched the rains
wash the mud from the shores
and have stood there
as the crystal clear waters rose,
and I have watched the plants
as they have swum from the deeps,
and I have watched them bend on their backs
to see the sun and breathe,
And as I took them gently,
with my palm under their chin,
I smiled and said to myself,
'I'm in love with this world'
