ROBOT WOMEN

Now that I live downtown,
I see women at the dog park
with their perfect bodies and perfect teeth.
But they are all robot women
whose idea of rebelling against their parents
Is sleeping with a man on the weekend.
I want a woman
with a little extra on her stomach,
a little extra on her thighs,
whose idea of rebelling against her parents
is going to a city council meeting
and speaking up, instead of doing her homework.
Why can't I have woman
who is proficient
in both academics and personality?
