SLEEPING ROLL

My memory of you resides suspended,
in a large hollow of my heart
pulling at the heart that lies around it,
trying to draw me to it.
I try to tie it 'round,
like a sleeping roll,
to abandon.
for though the memory
may feel lonely;
all tied up
and kept at bay,
it will hurt me less
than it tugging at me.

I consider this one of the saddest poems I've ever wrote.
Not sure if it was on Katie or Heather. Probably Katie.
Before Thanksgiving, makes no sense that it would be on Heather.
