THE TIME IT TAKES TO BUILD A SPIDER WEB

The time it takes to build a spider web
is the time I'll spend for you.
It's the time I'll spend in the garden,
to grow wild roses, to please you.
It's the time I'll spend with a hammer
to build you custom furniture,
It's the time I'll spend changing diapers,
so you can enjoy the laughter of our babies.
It's the time I'll spend driving them, when they're older,
so they can make it to the little leagues.
It's the time I'll spend in the kitchen,
even after you're bed-ridden and thin,
and the time I'll spend being patient with you,
reminding you to be good, so we can meet in Heaven.

And only there, above the clouds,
when we meet again and kiss,
only then will I be finished,
with this spider web I weave.
